If you want a good example of how to relate to Mudcat, read some of Rick Fielding's past postings, bless his memory. He was always positive.
I believe that "negative" posters have a place in mudcat, as in life.
Think of the philosophies that portray life as ying/yang, or order vs. chaos.
The universe seems to require both.

I understand totally GS, some of the colonials treat this site as if everything they post is as important as the sermon on the mount! Whereas in fact, it is an obscure folk music site.
To my mind, us english puppies use mudcat more toward it's true intent. We use it to meet up and play, arrange gatherings, and generally have a titter! The Australians are usually a good laugh, they understand irony, and aren't so self important!

GS - it would be a shame if you weren't there to add your contribution to the various debates. I've enjoyed you posts, which are, at the very least, considered and genuine. I may not agree with everything you say but I will defend your right to say it (forgotten whose quote that is but someone will remind me).

I would like to see an all out effort by Mudcatters just to ignore totally insulting and unpleasant posts from memebers or guests. If they aren't getting the reaction from anyone here maybe they'll just go away and find another site to bother.

Like I said, I do think there is a danger in saying very religious things that you will seem to denigrate other people's religions and thus put them off. But I hope I was also careful to say that I believe it's unintentional, and I certainly don't think the "Be Blessed" thing should be a problem for anyone.

If, like you said in the other thread, that I am one of the "few" at Mudcat that is casuing you to stop posting under the bar, well, I don't get it. I've disagreed with you, but I can't remember attacking you or calling you names. I never had a problem with your sign-off and even admitted that some of the things that made me feel disagreeable had to do with my own feelings about Mudcat.
