Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Blackcatter Date: 11 Aug 04 - 11:48 PM No problem Wolfgang. Didn't think it was anything serious. Just an odd thing. No harm, no foul. I think we can both say that it was Bruce's fault. HA! Jay Leno just said that what saved the day on the plane was a flight attendant had a ball of yarn to disctact the cat. |

Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Wolfgang Date: 11 Aug 04 - 04:18 PM Sorry, Blackcatter, I could have been much clearer. You were not my focus at all, I just used your words (which are completely appropriate and innocuous in this context) to make the point that sometimes, like in my example aboveof the enforced evictions, we treat humans not much better than animals. There are a lot of sentences that sound awful if we translate them from an animal context into a human context and that is good so, for we should not want to treat humans as we do animals. Sorry again for making you feel attacked when that was not my intention. But when I reread my post I can see that my writing is to be blamed and not your reading. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Peace Date: 11 Aug 04 - 03:54 PM Wolfgang, You put some words in BC's mouth. He ain't at all like that. Both you guys are my friends, and I don't like what I'm reading here, so deep breath everyone and let's not forget we like each other 96.7% of the time. It is also interesting that 89.3% of people who use statistics in an argument make them up as they go along. VOTE GREEN: Give peas a chance. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: GUEST,Blackcatter Date: 11 Aug 04 - 03:47 PM Wolfgang - exactly why did you do that extprapolation? What I said made sense. Would you rather cats and dogs fly the way humans do? Please don't make me out to be a racist. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Wolfgang Date: 11 Aug 04 - 03:42 PM Honest repatriation: I believe that all African Americans are descendants of Africans - and putting Africans in cages is the safe way to transport them. No, that really doesn't sound nice with these replacements. Thank God, we treat humans different from animals, always, don't we? Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Peace Date: 11 Aug 04 - 03:39 PM What's a five hundred pound parakeet say? Here, kitty, kitty, kitty. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: mg Date: 11 Aug 04 - 03:34 PM Where was the owner of the cat? I think they were worried about terrorism possibilities. And why are cats allowed in the main part of the plane? I think there are some hygiene factors here.... mg |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: GUEST,guest Date: 11 Aug 04 - 01:07 PM Time to put the cat out? |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Blackcatter Date: 11 Aug 04 - 01:02 PM Yet another reason why them cockpit doors need to be closed and locked. By the way Brucie, I interpreted it as an honest repatriation. I beleive that all housecats are descendants of African cats - and putting animals in cages is the safe way to transport them. I was just imagining a cat wishing to go back to the motherland. I'll get my hat . . . |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Peace Date: 11 Aug 04 - 12:53 PM Wolfgang, I didn't mean that at all. I didn't even know about that. Maybe I should have asked if the cat had a mane and clump of hair on the end of its tail. Ah, well, some days are better than others. BM |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Wolfgang Date: 11 Aug 04 - 12:46 PM Many asylum seekers in Europe (in particular from Africa) are brought bound and gagged into planes in order to send them "back where they came from". Sometimes even their laywers have not been informed. Jackpot for them is to raise such a hell in the plane that the pilot is forced to return, so their lawyer may have a second chance to secure them some more months in Europe. If you have not meant that, Brucie, I'm sorry. That was my association. Wolfgang |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Mr Red Date: 11 Aug 04 - 11:36 AM I tried to post the link but this 'Cat was not talking to me either. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/3551672.stm |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Peace Date: 11 Aug 04 - 11:29 AM Sorry, Dave. I'll aim higher next time. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 11 Aug 04 - 11:00 AM Perhaps I'm being dense (again), but what is nasty and un-PC about "was it being returned to Africa?" As I see it, it's a not-terribly-witty suggestion that it was not a housecat but a wild feline like a lion or cheetah. What am I missing here? Dave Oesterreich |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Wolfgang Date: 11 Aug 04 - 10:50 AM was it being returned to Africa? (Brucie) I first laughed and then I realised what a nasty un-PC joke that is and I laughed again. Wolfgang |

Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: ToulouseCruise Date: 11 Aug 04 - 10:34 AM ... Yet another case of whatever pussy wants, pussy gets. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Blackcatter Date: 10 Aug 04 - 03:58 PM Yet more evidence that cats should never be caged. Free, free, set them free . . . |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: GUEST Date: 10 Aug 04 - 03:48 PM It sounds like a cat who will make nice fiddle strings. |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Peace Date: 10 Aug 04 - 03:30 PM Was the cat from a zoo, and was it being returned to Africa? |
Subject: RE: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Little Hawk Date: 10 Aug 04 - 03:16 PM I can well imagine. Some cats react very violently to being inside a moving vehicle. I bet those pilots were relieved when they touched down. |
Subject: BS: cat hijacker sends pilot in a tizz From: Mr Red Date: 10 Aug 04 - 02:22 PM heard on the BBC news tonight that a plane leaving Belgium was carrying a pussy in a cage and the cat freed itself. When it got into the cockpit the pilots could not reason with the angry moggy. They had no other option than to return with the irate feline. The cat's demands were unclear at the time of the report. a cat with guts....... |
