tried to post this yesterday but mudcat wouldnt accept my message - sniff sniff

anyway MCFAT has asked me to put this message on - he has now been made redundant so after Tuesday this week there will be no way of contacting him through the internet - you'll have to contact me and I will pass messages on unless you want enormous phone bills by actually talking to him!

He's a little bit down about it all but at least he'll have time to do his closet banjo playing as he wont have money for beer ..beer ..beer... beer!

Yes it's now official and my last day is tommorrow (Tuesday 16th) basically I think it's constructive dismissal and I'm awaiting advice on this score. However I'm still a bit angry and hurt on the way things have been done but hey it's a big wide world out there and things happen for a reason. So I will now seek out new opportunities and horizons

My sympathies, Jim. Been there and done that. Try to think of it as an opportunity for something wonderful and new. Every time something like that has happened to me, the next one has turned out to be even better. It's hard to keep believing that when it doesn't happen straight away, but I hope that better job for you is just around the corner.

Jim phoned me last night a little the worse for alcohol and is hoping to make the most of his imposed freedom by going to see his daughter up in Edinburgh - finances permitting - so he wont be available by phone either - works phone being returned today presumably

Sorry to hear it - I've still got a job, but even in the IT industry, things are getting very tight, and you're considered "over the hill" before you're forty these days - I'm sixty now so I'm on borrowed time !

I hope something turns up - perhaps Jim could train as vet - he could get his hand up all sorts of creatures then.
