Charmion has a few days leave in lieu of overtime that she has to use before 30 September and I am also looking for a break since we won't be able to go to the Getaway this year. We are looking at going to Washington for an extra-long weekend over the third weekend in September, probably Wednesday to Tuesday the following week. Actually, I only raised the possibility of Washington and Charmion went right out and bought a street map and the Rough Guide to Washington, so I guess we're going as long as I can get a few projects at work straightened away.

Can any of you Washington area Mudcatters recommend any places to go to hear music? Are there any interesting concerts that weekend?

Edmund

I bet the FSGW website would give you that info. Enjoy your trip. Sorry you won't be at the Getaway.

Traveling to DC from where, and by car or wing?

Travelling from Ottawa. Actually, we are finding our original plan logistically challenging. The weekend we had planned to go happens to be the weekend of the opening of the Museum of the American Indian, so most of the cheap lodgings seem to be taken. That's what happens when you try to put a trip together at almost the last minute.

Given the expense, we have decided to change our destination to Virginia and to go by car. Our ultimate destination will be the Blue Ridge Music Centre, by way of the Manassas battlefield site.
