Subject: BS: UK M'cats, Russel Hunter From: Dave Swan Date: 07 Sep 04 - 11:45 AM In the 1970's I caught Russel Hunter at the Perth Theatre in a one man show called Jock. In one of the most powerful performances I've ever seen, Hunter traced a family's history through its military service as represented in the museum in which the show took place. I read recently of Russel Hunter's death and it sent me on a search for the script of Jock. Perhaps it's never been published, but if it has I certainly can't find it. Do any 'cats in the U.K. have any suggestions for finding said text? I've written the Perth Theatre, no response as yet. Thanks, fellow 'cats. One more thing, somebody have a pint of Old Hookie for me. Cheers, D |

Subject: RE: BS: UK M'cats, Russel Hunter From: Dave Swan Date: 08 Sep 04 - 08:10 PM Damn me Micca, I owe you a pint. This has got to be sequel to the same show, and a great jumping off point. Jock began in a military museum with Hunter pointing to a doll saying "That wee mann was my father.....and that wee man was his father...' and so on. Sorry shepherdlass, I don't know about Lonely, but Hunter worked regularly, so it could have been. Cheers, D |
