Subject: Lyr Req. In our galiot. From: MARINER Date: 11 Sep 04 - 11:01 AM Can anyone help with the words of a shanty?? The first line goes "In our galiot we're bound to go" Part of the chorus sounds like " Row, rock your ass, (I assume this is the English ass,i.e. a donkey, and not the American one,an arse!) |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req. In our galiot. From: GUEST,MCP Date: 11 Sep 04 - 11:10 AM Are you sure that's not: "To old Callao we're bound to go"? with chorus "Oh roll, rock your bars" or "Oh roll, rock your ass"?, in which case it's a version of the Saltpetre Shanty. There's a version in this thread: Saltpetre Shanty about 2/3 of way through the posts Mick |
