Hello, I listen to TalkSport Radio in a morning, [from about 7am], one of the presenters called Alan Brazil often calls people Numpty, ie "You are a Numpty",
so waht is a numpty, it can't be a swear word, or they wouldent let him say it on the radio in a morning.

Don't know jOhn but I heard of a Numpty-dumpty who fell off a wall.....bit of a hard case but his shell cracked!!!

It generally means a bit of a pillock - wally - dipstick - plonker - prat - silly billy - dippy doo - an all round silly bu**er.

A person who has done something a bit silly / dizzy / daft/ idiotic.

A Scottish term, but not usually a nasty term.

I'm a numpty of the highest order. Or lowest. Highest just sounds wrong.
