In future: Blue clickies are reserved for Blues Songs - please use other colours as appropriate for other Genres.

Take it and run guys...

SO if blickes are for blues songs, what do we use for blue songs? (As in those naughty songs that of course, NO-ONE on this site ever ever sings....)

I've been using rickies and pickies, for blickies that are red and pink.... but I have dared do anything in PuRple or Damson.....

Use blickies black or ochre
Or maroon, if you so choose
But don't you make no blue clicky, man
If you haven't got the blues, hey,
I say if you haven't goooot the blues.

Red and yellow and pink and green,
Orange and purple and blue,
Hyperlinks are useful, very useful,
Something I can't do.

Click on the address, click on cut and paste,
click on every single key....
I can't make a clicky, make a clicky,
Can you make one pleeeeeeeeeese?

- it's very early and thanks to certain car alarm down the street, I've been awake longer than I was asleep.....

Is it possible to make a hyperlink appear in any other colour than blue?.

I could experiment, I know, but I can't bothered and I know somebody will tell me ...

yes - you can change the default colour of the link - both for before having clicked it and after having clicked it.

I woke up this morning, blues all around my bed;
Yes, I woke up this morning, blues all around my bed;
I booted up Mudcat and this is the thread I read.

You can't do blue clickies, 'less you post the blues;
No, you can't do blue clickies, 'less you post the blues;
So if you've just feeling queasy be sure to post chartreuse.

Sorry Ella. (cribbed from 'It don't mean a thing (It you ain't got the swing))

What's a hyperlink, what's   H T M    L?
If it ain't a Blue Clickie Thing?
It ain't the hyperlink, it ain't the site
There's something else that makes your life complete.

It don't turn to blue, if you don't sing the blues --
clicky click-it, clicky click-it,click-it,click-it

And you can't make a blue if you ain't got the blues
clicky click-it, clicky click-it,click-it,click-it

It makes no diff'rence if that topics stupid or hot,
Just remember to qoute every reference you got

It don't turn to blue, if you don't sing the blues --
clicky click-it, clicky click-it,click-it,click-it

And you can't make a blue if you ain't got the blues
clicky click-it, clicky click-it,click-it,click-it

Got to make a clicky, because I'm sad today
Feeling really sicky, and it won't go away
How I want to tell all my Mudcat pals,
How I want to tell all the guys and gals
'Bout these blues,
I can't loose
Lord they keep me crying all the day.
Sitting at my keyboard here in the old UK,
So far from the sea board, where I would like to play,
Foolestroupe's challenge I can't refuse,
Lordy how I miss the sand in my shoes.
Got to make a clicky, a big blue clicky
And tell you 'bout my Cornish Blues!

Tune is called Tishamingo!

MMario, I know it is possible to customise hyperlink colours on one's own computer, via Internet Settings, but what I was wondering out loud, was whether it was possible to post a hyperlink using HTML in some way, so that everybody else sees the link in a colour other than blue.

I am fairly certain that the answer is NO.

qouting from "Ted's HTML Tutorial"

All the "unvisited" hyperlinks in a document can be made any color you wish, and all the "visited" hyperlinks can be made any (usually a different) color. The commands to define the color of every unvisited hyperlink and of every visited hyperlink are placed within the BODY tag, located near the beginning of the HTML source code document.

LINK="COLOR"|"#COLOR CODE": indicates the initial color of the "unvisited" hyperlinks in a web document (the default unvisited link color is blue).

ALINK="COLOR"|"#COLOR CODE": optional; indicates the color of a hyperlink for the moment or so after it has been "activated" (there is no default activated link color).

VLINK="COLOR"|"#COLOR CODE": indicates the color of the previously activated hyperlinks in a web document, showing which other web pages or sites have been "visited" or called up (the default visited link color is purple or, on some browsers, olive).

On rare occasions, one might wish to make a hyperlink on a page a different color than what has been designated in the BODY tag. This can be done by placing <FONT COLOR> & </FONT> tags directly around the text within the hyperlink (inside of the <A HREF> & </A> tags). ...A link created this way can stay only one color; it will remain the same color even after it has been activated

please note that BODY tags are verbotten in mudcat postings.

None of this divisive nonsense - keep 'em all blue. (Apart from anything else,it'd bugger up my lovesong for the Mudcat, The Blue Clicky Thing.)

No fear McGrath - as I said - BODY tags are forbidden in mudcat posts - so the defaults stay the defaults unless Max or Pene decides to change them. And most people won't know how to do the individual ones.

creeping the thread even more -
the 20 most common colors recognized by browsers are:

Aqua; black, blue, brown, chartruese, fuschia, gray, green, lime, maroon, navy, orange, purple, red, silver, teal, violet, white and yellow.

But there are a lot more named colours you can use...according to this chart such as MEDIUMAQUAMARINE

Hey! I knew that! :-)

This is not a Tech Thread, this is an Artistic Thread! Artistic Creativeness needs no Scientific Correctness, or else "Lord of the Flies" would be banned cause Piggy's glasses being ones used for short sightedness (and thus diverging, not converging the sun's rays) can never start a fire!

You missed out cerulian and cyan...... the former being a common shade of "sky" blue and the other being the shade of blue in your printer.
