Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Linda Kelly Date: 12 Oct 04 - 03:25 PM I can't Les as I am in Croatia -however just another big thankyou to Sir John who gets incredble stick from people who should know better, and continues to do a sterling job of not only keeping folk live nHull but actually telling people about it. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Les from Hull Date: 12 Oct 04 - 02:11 PM On the third Sunday (this Sunday coming 2.30pm) you can go to the Black Boy which has the advantage of being in Hull (as opposed to Beverley or Farlington, fine places though they are). Or you can go to the Grafton in Grafton Street and be at Hull's newest session, hosted by Cowfish. This last one starts about 5pm. Or you could do both. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Cod Fiddler Date: 12 Oct 04 - 01:46 PM I thought Cara were at the Black Boy on saturday 9th (just gone). Are they there this saturday too? What day is it and what planet am I on? On the sessions front, try Nellies (The White Horse) in Beverley on tuesday evenings and every sunday afternoon except the 1st sunday of the month. On the 1st sunday OTM, go to the Monks Walk in Beverley. Richard. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Georgiansilver Date: 12 Oct 04 - 01:24 PM Do go to the Black Boy on Saturday for sure....go see "Cara" you will not be disappointed. Best wishes. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Gedpipes Date: 12 Oct 04 - 01:16 PM or... try Woolpack in Beverley Tuesday nights. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: The Beast of Farlington Date: 12 Oct 04 - 09:09 AM Or come to Farlington, Blacksmith's Arms, 8pm on Wednesdays for the greatest music night ever. Strictly speaking , Farlington isn't in Hull, but we're unofficially twinned with Hull and a mere 50-60 miles from that noble city. And when the Hullites visit us, our population doubles. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: s6k Date: 12 Oct 04 - 07:48 AM try and go see Harri Watts band on wednesday 13th october (tomorrow!) at the Lamp, Hull. it is just opposite the hull daily mail office, down the street with the hotel on the corner. harriWatts band are amazing! |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 Oct 04 - 07:30 AM Or venture south over the biggest bridge in Hull to a couple of weekly events, accompanied song and tune session every Tuesday at the Six Bells, Barrow upon Humber, or tune session every Wednesday at the Brocklesby Hunt in Goxhill. Lovely. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: GUEST,East Riding Date: 12 Oct 04 - 06:41 AM The Kingston Collective session is at the Kingston Hotel Cumberland Street in the middle of a sort of industrial estate. The bar can be noisy so if you sing you have to pick a quiet moment and just not mind it. Otherwise its a practice of tunes, mostly Irish but anything accepted. The best way to get there is by taxi but that would need early booking in fair week. There will probably be no session on Friday 22nd October. |
Subject: RE: Stuff in Hull From: Linda Kelly Date: 07 Oct 04 - 03:21 PM and Cottingham Live every Wednesday at Northern Food Club Milhouse Woods Lane. Get the 104 bus and get off just past the railway line. Starts 8.30pm |
