I'm finally lurking around the list again, and have to agree -
NOMAD this year was really fine! Since the school is larger than
other places where they've had the festival during the past 17 years,
it was difficult to tell whether attendance was up or down. The
quality of the performances was top-notch, however... just as I
thought they'd be. John Roberts had a standing room only crowd
when I arrived on Saturday at 2:30. Best of all way the general
level of support and friendliness, in concert rooms and dance halls.
I certainly felt very supported in my traditional songs of NY/NE
session - and thank everyone for their very kind words. I had a great time!

Need something around February to keep going? Try the Dance Flurry
in Saratoga Springs. Yes, it's more dance than singing and music
workshops - but there's always some sacred harp singing, a pub sing,
and various concert sets, as well asl instrumental workshops. Mid-winter is a great time to get moving, and figure out how it is that "they not get all crossed up?"
(How do we not get all crossed up driving on the highway? We figure
out where we're going. In the dance, the music helps also.)

Anyway, three cheers for NOMAD - let's all help out to make sure that it happens again.

-Pamela

Greetings!

Back in July I spent 5 days in the hospital with an attack of acute pancreatitis, and for the first 48 hours or so I nearly took a walk through the Lonesome Valley as my enzyme levels were nearly twelve times normal and my other organs began to fail. Well, the bottom line is I'm still here, and I was really happy to official do two events at NOMAD and sit on on several others. So the news is I'm back! Now I don't know if you consider that good news or bad news -- maybe it's both -- but you'll have to put up with me just the same.

Yes, I made a very brief appearance at the Eisteddfod-NY back in August, singing a couple of songs in the New Songs, Old Styles workshop. But I was very weak and still in a lot of pain, and if it weren't for pain meds I would have never made it at all. But now all I have is a little mild discomfort now and then, and I can handle it without drugs. On top of that, I've become a near-vegetarian -- a little chicken broth and seafood are OK -- and I've lost over 40 pounds. I feel as strong as a bull, and by NEFFA I'll be roaring -- so I hope!

Great px, Barbara!
I too felt torn between Mudcat events. In fact, as small as this festival was, I missed many events because I had promised someone to go to their event- whether to dance, or support Bruce Randall in his wonderful West Gallery workshop, or whatever. So I missed the 'Chucks, too- but Jerry, Barbara, and DW- what energy you transmitted! Great gospel of all kinds! I never heard "God Bless the Child" like that, DW- it's a favorite, and you just added to the richness.
Yup, thank goodness for NEFFA- now we need something in February to round out the year!

Two funny moments I just thought of. ShoreGrass learned "I'll Fly Away" for the gospel set, but didn't quite have it down perfect in time. After we did the song, Jerry gallantly announced that it took much practice to come in so precisely separate like that!

And then during the food court jam, my guitar was at the instrument check room and I was itching to join in the music. Dwditty gallantly offered me his beautiful guitar to play. I took it, strummed a G chord and announced that it was too out of tune, I'd go get my own. He discreetly informed me that it was in Drop D tuning!

Peter, I was very sorry I couldn't be in two places at the same time; I hated having 2 Mudcat sets scheduled against each other. Let's hope that doesn't happen again!

Well, it's time for my 2-cents' worth, I guess. I had a really lovely time at NOMAD. I would have loved to be at the D.C. Get-Away, but, w/ my current schedule, I can only manage Old Songs & NOMAD & that's not half bad. My list of sighted Mudcatters includes: SongsterBob & KnitPick, Kath Westra, Animaterra, Vixen & Reynaud, Jerry Rasmussen, karen k, dick greenhaus & Susan of DT, Sandy & Caroline Paton, dwditty, Barbara Shaw & Frank, Guy Wolff, Duane D., 2 out of 3 'chucks, & Guest,Pamela from Ithaca. I am sorry that I didn't meet NOMADman or bubukaba, who posted to this thread.

I arrived at NOMAD at 2 pm on Saturday, just having missed Scott Alarik, because I underestimated my travel time. Just as I arrived, I met & hugged Jerry & Ruth Rasmussen at the registration table. Great to see them! I went to both of Jerry's sessions. His "Scrapbook of Songs--Family History in Song" was delightful--a mix of songs he's recorded, which many present there knew & some unrecorded that I wish were! Notably, a certain rooster song. Any chance of getting that on recording, Jerry? I thought it was really cute! Reminded me of Bill Staines' "Place in the Choir." I had attended Jerry's gospel session 2 previous years, when the Gospel Messengers (great to see them as always!) took turns singing w/ the Beans. This year was a neat twist--Black gospel, Blues gospel (dwditty), & Bluegrass Gospel (Shoregrass--Barbara & Frank Shaw's group. What a pleasure to meet dwditty & hear his music. It was equally wonderful to hear Jerry & the Messengers & the Shaws again!

I always enjoy my contact w/ the D.C. folks--Songster Bob & KnitPick & Kath Westra, now residing in Maine. lamarca & George Stephens were missed! I had time to chat w/ Kathy, as well as hearing her in concert & joining her Sunday song circle. Kathy, you are a beautiful woman w/ a beautiful voice. I'm thankful to know you! You cost me money this weekend, though. She sang a song called "First Star Lullaby" by Kim Wallach of the Short Sisters. Soon thereafter, in the cafeteria, I met Kim through Animaterra. They happen to be school music teachers in neighboring New Hampshire towns! I went to the Short Sisters' harmony workshop & also went to the 2-hour humorous concert that featured the Short Sisters, Evy Mayer of New York City, & Mike Agranoff of New Jersey. They were all great! I had heard of the Short Sisters & Evy Mayer, but never seen them in person or heard much of their music. Considering that I found out the Short Sisters have been singing together for 25 years, I guess I'm a bit behind! I remember thinking, as I drove to my hotel Saturday pm, that I hoped I'd see Kim on Sunday. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the hotel restaurant for the free continental breakfast & found the 3 Short Sisters occupying a table for 4! We had a warm chat as we ate. When I went back to my room, I discovered that they were 4 doors down! Kim is one of those lovely people whose good soul shines right out through her face! I bought 4 music cd's this weekend--one each by the Short Sisters, Kim Wallach, Evy Mayer, & a Sacred Harp recording. That covered the Saturday sessions I attended. In between sessions, I had a good chat w/ Kathy Westra, hugs & chat w/ Animaterra (fantastic to see you!), sat w/ Vixen & Reynaud, saw Guy Wolff, managed a quick hello to the 'chucks in the cafeteria, visited w/ Dick & Susan at Camsco & w/ Sandy, Caroline, & karen k at Folk Legacy. dwditty, I'm glad you came to NOMAD this year; I hope it is the 1st of many! In addition to Mudcatters, I had the pleasure of seeing Lui Collins & having a brief chat w/ her. She is performing again & has a really lovely voice & personality. I would invite those of you who may not be familiar w/ her music to check her website at: http://www.luicollins.com/.

I started Sunday morning at Kath Westra's song circle. As usual, I didn't lead any songs, but I sure enjoyed harmonizing. Animaterra sang a wonderful song about hope & perseverance. SongsterBob sang a very moving song called, "Turn the Boat Around." From the song circle, I took Sandy & Karen's advice & went to hear Pamela Goddard (Guest, Pamela from Ithica) sing traditional ballads from New York & New England. Although ballads are not my strongest area of interest, I was very impressed. Pamela has a beautiful voice. Her diction was crystal-clear & her timing impeccable. She introduced the songs in interesting & humorous ways; I was glad to be there. At 1 pm, I had a 3-way dilemma, between Songster Bob & KnitPick, Anne Price, & Shape Note Singing. Although I would have loved to attend all 3, shape note won out. I spent a delightful 1 1/2 hours immersed in a cappella harmony. Nothing would do but to end the weekend participating in Sandy & Caroline's "Favorite Songs & Ballads" session. Good listening & singing w/ dear friends--nothing better! I drove the 2 hours home w/ good memories in my mind, a smile on my lips, & new tunes on the cd player! It was great!

best to all,

bbc

Hey, Peter: I was sorry we didn't get to hear your workshop either... or the mandolin workshop which I would have loved to hear.
Every year it's the same. But, I wouldn't have it any other way. It just shows how much talent there is in the area. More than we can ever even sample.

You folks do any gospel?

There is always next year, you know..

Kris and I did sort of a rush trip this year. We left home a little before 7:00 am on Sat., drove 3 1/2 hours (plus a break for breakfast at the Country Girl diner in Chester! Piggy Piggy! Yum!) and got to Nomad about 11:30; stayed through our set at 7:00 pm, drove back starting at 8:00 and got to bed around midnight. Sunday we weren't good for too much.

The main things we did were participate in Roger Sprung's 2-hour BG Jam, and attend the set by "Too Blue" (their guitar player, Betsy Rome, is an old friend from Flatpick-L). Very good picking. Also spent my birthday present from my mother entirely at Dick G.'s shop, leaving with a bunch of box sets and loose CDs.

I was sort of miffed that they scheduled our set simultaneously with that of Jerry R. et. al. Not only did we not get any Mudcatters at our set, I'd of liked to see Jerry's my own self. Our set did get a packed house (well, classroom, anyway) and they were very enthusiastic. One woman told us our set made the festival worthwhile for her. That never happened before. We had fun, in any event.

It didn't seem to me like they had a very good crowd, but it may just have been that the venue is so much larger that it made the same crowd as in prior years look smaller. I met DWDitty briefly, and played a couple songs with Songster Bob. Didn't really get to socialize as much as I should have.

Probably stay overnight next year, if they keep it going.

Peter.

Peter.

Great pictures, Barbara. I, as you know, am one who told you how much I usually and totally dislike bluegrass. But I will make a public statement here on Mudcat that I really do like what I've heard of ShoreGrass. I got your cd after after hearing The Connecticut Waltz on the Mudcat cds. I was sorry to miss your individual workshop but I'm glad that I made to Gospel in Black and Blue. My comment to afterward to you was definitely meant as a compliment.

NOMAD was in a new school again this year. It was very easy to get to and much better than last year. Only downside was how far some of the workshop rooms were from the main area. But other than that I don't even recall hearing any complaints.

It is always great to see Mudcat friends and other friends and this year was no exception. Mudcat participation in NOMAD is increasing and that is great.

Hey folks, Guy Wolff is one heck of a musician and singer. If you get a chance, ya gotta hear him. I love his enthusiasm and his friendliness. He is one really nice guy. Gotta see more of him.

Nice weekend, great friends, fine music. What more could you want?

Can't wait for NEFFA in April so we can do this all over again.

Thanks for all the ShoreGrass-friendly comments! That program of "Gospel in Black & Blue" has given me some ideas (this is where Frank always goes "uh, oh") about a sequel...

And Jerry, as for predictability, I never know what's going to come out of my mouth until it's too late! But we have so much fun that we'll keep on doing it whenever we can, and hopefully we'll never take ourselves too seriously. It was a pleasure making music with you and the fabulous Gospel Messengers and dwditty. (Which I learned is NOT pronounced doo-wah-ditty, but rather dee-double-you-ditty...)

Anyway, it was great seeing everyone and hearing a few. I didn't manage to catch everyone with my camera, but I did get quite a few, if you'd like to look at the album:

Well--It was, as always, TERRIFIC! We (of course) didn't get to do everything we wanted to. There were several things we intended to leave in the middle of to go catch something else, and we just didn't manage it.

My Personal Highlights (in order of memorability): Listening to Gospel in Black and Blue (WOW! Got that Sunday Spirit on Saturday Night!). Watching folks dance "Indian Queen" in Pamela's Playfords (how do they not get all crossed up?). Voice with Lorraine Hammond (the break in my voice? it doesn't matter--just sing!). Left and Right Hands on the Guitar with Bennett Hammond. Playing (all too briefly) in one of the cafeteria jams. Playing one of Mike Kachuba's lap dulcimers. Everything else we did!

I actually saw and at least said "Hi!" to: Sandy and Caroline, Karen K, Dick Greenhaus and Susan of DT, bbc, Animaterra, Guy Wolff, dwditty, Songster Bob and Knitpick, Jerry Rasmussen, Kath Westra, Barbara and Frank Shaw, and several other friends that we only get to see very rarely.

What a great time, though, as always, IT'S TOO SHORT!

You know, Barbara... Shoregrass isn't bluegrass and it isn't folkgrass (although that wouldn't be a bad name) .. or "New Grass." Maybe you're a Green Grass band. Which would make Frank the "Father of Green Grass... (and you the Mother.) Green Grass would give the imagery of rebirth and renewal, with all the freshness and promise of Spring. There is bluegrass that I really like... the Stanley Brothers, because they are more Mountain Grass with the feel of the hills of Appalachia, with all the ruggedness and beauty. I like Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver because they are just such fine singers, and I love their full, rich harmonies. I had the treat of hearing Lester Flatt and Earl Scrugs in the early 60's, and Bill Monroe in the 80's, and while I appreciated their musicianship, I've overdosed of computer-programmed bluegrass where the two things that are not permitted are originality, or surprise. I mean, I like tradition, but not predictability. That's why I enjoy Shoregrass so much. When bluegrass musicians call you "folkies," I'd take that as a high compliment. When Folkies say you aren't bluegrass, I'd take that as a high compliment.

As for me, "I long to see the green green grass of home." Shore grass does that for me..

WOW! NOMAD 2004 was my first such festival, and I had a blast. I had the good fortune to be asked by Jerry to participate in his gospel workshop, and, as I told him, it ranks as a musical highlight for me. The Messengers are simply amazing. And Shoregrass!!!! I was lucky enough to catch their first hour of music which made the workshop all the better. I won't remind Frank that I was hanging around Northampton at the time Clean Living was the hottest band around. And, Barabara, you are so right about Jerry's wife Ruth. I stopped by their house one day with my daughter, Whitney, and the two of them connected while Jerry and I yakked away about music. She is a gem.

I did meet the Woodchuck's, but their session (Songs to Sing When the Guests Won't Leave), regrettably, was the same time as ours, as was new friend and occasional mudcatter Heather Lev's Songs of Malivna Reynolds. I finally met Sandy and Caroline and Karen K at the Folk Legacy booth. Right next door were Susan of DT and Dick Greenhouse. Guy Wolf must have special laces, because the way that man plays, I thought he was going to come right our of his shoes. It was nice to see Vixen and Reynaud, even in passing, as I had not seen them since Bill and Alan's adventure. bbc was an excellent audience during the workshop and a treat to meet after, along with Animaterra and Kathy Westra. Now let's see....who did I forget? During the Saturday night jam in the food court, Barabara was always ready with "just one more song" as people tried to leave.

The whole ordeal was simply great. Music heard at every turn. Red faced dancers running for a cool drink or a breath of fresh air. And everyone just so nice. Thanks to all for making my first trip so enjoyable.

And here's my 5 cents... I thoroughly enjoyed the Gospel in Black & Blue with Jerry & the Gospel Messengers and dwditty. It was definitely a treat to hear, and I greatly appreciated being part of it (with ShoreGrass). In fact, I may have "converted" some people: a few came up to me afterwards saying they didn't like bluegrass but enjoyed what we did in this program. I THINK that was a compliment. (I won't tell them that our bluegrass friends call us folkies and our folkie friends call us bluegrassers). Jerry's wife Ruth is always so pleasant and gracious, such a nice lady. And I got to sing my first black gospel when everyone joined in for the last call and response led by Jerry, with each part having a Gospel Messenger to follow.

I also had fun in the jam in the cafeteria with Guy Wolff (wow, is he a dynamo, so much fun and so friendly) and the Hammonds (we talked them into "one more song" before their long ride home three or four times!) and Dick Greenhaus and the Dobro player and fiddler whom I know but not by name. I was busy talking with Karen and Kathy and got back to Guy and Frank (husband) just in time to intervene as Guy was assuring Frank it was OK for him to buy several more banjos! Hmmm, keep an eye on that slide guitar playing wolff...

Mudcat sitings: it was good to see bbc, Dick & Susan, the Patons, Karen K, dwditty, Animaterra (I remembered meeting her at Old Songs as a mudcat and guessed correctly who she was at NOMAD). Finally met Kathy Westra -what a nice lady- but I missed her performances.   Great to see Vixen and Reynaud, who I'm encouraging to perform next year. Jerry, I think you met Vixen (Vicky) when you and I were talking in the lobby early in the afternoon, but Tim was elsewhere. Let's see, who else. Missed Kendall, but thought of him.

But where were those elusive Woodchucks, anyway? Did I pass them by and not know it?

Well, I managed to annoy just about everyone at NOMAD by snapping pictures (I'm a new digital camera junkie) at every opportunity. When I get them uploaded I'll post a link on this thread.

It was indeed a great time. Seeing Guy, Vixen and Tim, bbc, the Patons, KarenK, Dick and Susan, DWDitty, Jerry Rasmussen (GREAT gospel program!), Barbara Shaw, Steve Suffet (so briefly!), dancing with Anglo...
Finally meeting Kathy Westra was a real highlight- a long-lost dear friend I hadn't met yet. Singing a farewell song in 3-part harmony with her and Kim Wallach was a peak experience.

NOMAD is a previously unknown treasure. I hope they are able to keep going. I wish I lived closer and wasn't so tightly booked in my life, or I'd love to help out.

I hope to go again next year- maybe I'll offer a workshop or two!

Well I couldn't go two days BUT my Saturday was glorious. My throat was not all there . ( A fall cold left over but I sang all day anyway . )
Caroline and Sandy were wonderful to see as always and they were set up next to Dick and Susan so we had tonnage of CD's to pick from. All I had to say was " I wonder what happened to Ian Robb after his first record and there they were .. A pile of CD's . The same when I brought up Luis Killen . Lots to listen to at home ..
Ralph Bodington did a great banjo concert . He was really great . and he and I played after wards till it was time to go see John Roberts. I have always wanted to see him . What an amazing gathering of voices. We just bellowed . It was ambrosia !!!.
One of my favorite moments was going to West Gallery Music with Bruce Randell again. He is so much fun and since I don't read music it is a blast having a cello bass line to follow around.Allison (Animaterra) was playing here Jeffereis for the alto line . She's really got it. !!
Also   Kathy Westra had a wonderful concert and what a treat first to hear Shore Grass in concert and then to jam with them later with Lorraine Lee Hammond and Bennett her husband . I ended the evening getting to sing with Caroline Paton ,Karen K. and a wonderful group of woman. ..
I missed Lui Collins but got to meet dwadiity and Songbob! I am sorry to have missed meeting Vixen the Woodchucks all and seeing Jerry R again . Next year . And its always great to see bbc: Barbara
                                 What an amazing day .

Once again, NOMAD was a delight! As always, it was frustrating not to be able to hear and see more people, but the list of people we DID spend a little time with is long. The Gospel In Black. Bluegrass and Blues was a particular treat. Shoregrass, with our fellow Mudcatteress Barbara Shaw brought a great deal of enthusiasm and energy, Rich Gallagher (dwditty) added some nice blues gospel and then the whole mess of us joined together to sing Trouble In My Way.

We also thoroughly enjoyed the harmony workshop by the Short Sisters, and snatches of several other workshops where we could only catch a song or two. It was great to meet so many Mudcatters, and see old friends. I'm sorry we didn't meet you, Vixen. We might have been racing past each other at some point, and didn't even realize it. I did get a chance to meet animaterra, and was glad for that.

All in all, a good time was had by all. I can hardly wait until next year.

No! No! You are part of "and many others, including the mudcats listed above" (meaning earlier in the thread) that I mentioned. But ya know, I've really got to meet you chucks one of these days... How many of you are there, anyway?

This is such a great festival that I would hate to see it go under for lack of help. It always gets a good crowd, although it must be mostly from mailing lists and word of mouth (and Mudcat?) because there was so little coverage in the paper. Today's local "Weekend Guide" had one tiny listing under FESTIVALS, rather than a full spread about the dance and music and food and vendors, etc.

Some of the regional artists who will be there include:
Lorraine Lee & Bennett Hammond
Sandy & Caroline Paton
Scott Alarik
Mike Agranoff
Cece Borjeson
Roger Sprung
Dave Reiner
Jerry Epstein
John Roberts
and many others, including the mudcats listed above. This is a chance to hear them up close in workshops and intimate concerts. There are Shape Note sessions with Bruce Randall, continuous dancing with bands like The Fiddleheads, Hudson Crossing, The Wild Notes, the Celtic Knots, the Chelsea String Band and many others. Don't want to leave anyone out, but the program grid is small print on two sides of a legal-size paper!

Come on out for this festival if you're within traveling distance, and consider helping in the future.

Friends of NOMAD,

Only one more day and off we go again! NOMAD's new facility at Wilbur Cross High School is simply spectacular, and it's in a really nice, folk-friendly neighborhood. The program, we think, is just wonderful.

Very important note: Everybody, please refer to Barbara Shaw's post of 20 October. Things have reached a critical juncture. We are really at the point where the gaps in our organizing committee and volunteer staff are making it difficult to continue producing this festival. It's not just the on-site work - selling tickets, running sound and so forth, but in the actual planning, organizing and management where things are getting thin. If you attend NOMAD and/or live reasonably close to New Haven CT and you have any organizational or administrative skills or any other talents that you are willing to offer, please contact us. During this year's festival we especially need help with management of the registration/ticket sales tables.

The contact info again is:
Sound volunteers: Bob at (203) 378-5688
Others: (860) 355-9020 or alicewgriffin@earthlink.net
or simply find a NOMAD staff person this weekend (beige staff Tee shirt) and let us know you can help.

Visit NOMAD's web site for comlpete contact info.

Regards,
John

"The Foxners" will be there Saturday, but we're not performing pseudonymously! We'll be saying hello to everyone we know, looking at everything for sale, going to all the relevant workshops, hearing all the performances, and generally having a good time! As usual, there are altogether too many good things going on simultaneously, AND there isn't a "dead" space in the entire day. The NOMAD organizers are terrific.

I'll be there, helping out at Folk-Legacy, sneaking off to hear some workshops and I'm supposed to do a workshop Sat. at 6pm called England Revisited. I went to England last spring and I'll be doing some songs that I heard for the first time on that trip and of course the stories that go along with where I heard them and who I heard them from.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and I'll be at the NY workshop. Sandy is right about Pamela, I've heard her.

See you all Saturday

karen

Well, I'm really good at saying "Maybe I'll be there" for so many events that I haven't said a thing, but it looks as though I'll really be there for at least part of Saturday until midday Sunday morning. I'm so looking forward to seeing all of you! I'm a paying guest, not a performer this time, so I'll be free to wander.
I'll be cashing in on those hugs...

This coming weekend!

I'll miss seeing Kendall there. Good luck with your surgery, Kendall. We'll be thinking of you and look forward to your return next year with Jacqui.

I hope to get to NOMAD early enough this time to hear more of the programs. There's always so much good stuff going on concurrently that many people end up "sampling" 15-20 minutes at a time and wander around continuously from room to room. And the vendor/crafts area is supposed to be much larger this year. One of these times I'll even stop in to see what the dancers are doing... (methinks dancing).

Bob Clayton (SongsterBob)and Jennifer Woods (KnitPick) will be coming up from D.C., as will Pete Kraemer. Bob and Jennifer will be doing a workshop on historical songs, and Pete and Bob will be performing as Sidekicks. Unfortunately, we won't hear my favorite singing buddies Mary LaMarca (lamarca) and George Stephens this year. They're taking a NOMAD break this fall to make room for some other musical trips.

I'll be there, driving down from my new home in Rockland, Maine, to do an hour-long concert set from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday and to lead "Songs for a Sunday Morning," a song-circle where everyone is encouraged to participate by leading a song with a chorus, a round, or something so well known that everyone can join in. It's a two-hour session beginning at 11:00 a.m. Sunday and ending at 1:00 p.m. This is definitely NOT a performance session, but rather a couple of hours of participatory community singing. Even though it's Sunday, gospel/God songs are definitely NOT a prerequisite, although they are most welcome. Hope to see some of you there!

NOMAD is a great festival, and it has moved to a new location this year (Wilbur Cross High School) in the heart of the Yale community. This is a folk-friendly part of the city, also the area where the New Haven Folk Alliance holds monthly concerts and near the sites of St John's Coffeehouse (monthly) and the New Haven Folk Festival (September). NOMAD offers something the others don't, however, with the dance dimension. I've been told they are in need of volunteer help in order to keep this thing going without burning out the regulars who have been doing it for 17 years:

> NOMAD Needs your Help
> NOMAD, Connecticut's annual fall festival of traditional music and
> dance is in need of volunteers to help put on this year's festival.
> The festival, which will take place November 6 & 7 in New Haven at
> the Wilbur Cross High School, needs people to help set-up on Friday
> night, and during the festival to run sound, sell tickets, staff the
> performers' sales table, and miscellaneous other jobs. Receive
> discounted admission in return for a few hours work. Volunteers with
> sound system experience, please contact Bob: (203) 378-5688. All
> others, contact Alice: (860) 355-9020 or alicewgriffin@earthlink.net.

Diddy, I hope we can get together as well. I don't think we'll be able to do the 000-2H duet, though, as I expect to bring the CA Legacy. I got it with trips like this, where I have to haul a guitar all over the place, in mind. I can use a cheap, therefore light, gigbag for it. It doesn't need a hard case. It is a hard case. But the sound is better than I would have believed you could get out of synthetics.

Peter.

I'll be doing a workshop on my own: A Scrapbook Of Songs - Family History In Song at 3 p.m., and hope you'll stop by and hear the gospel workshop, which should be great fun. Be sure to identify yourself by your Catter name, too, so I'll now who you are.
