Mudcatters who know Jon may not be aware that he was rushed into hospital yesterday.
Pip (his mum) posted this news on Jon's folkinfo site here and I am sure she would appreciate your messages of support.

Night Owl and I still miss hearing Jon on HearMe/PalTalk; he makes playing well sound so easy!

Sending all good thoughts and thanks givings for a complete and better-than-ever recovery. I'll hold the stones which you, Pip, and he found and polished and concentrate some good energy through them for you both.

Jon Freeman was the first 'Catter to welcome me here. And he has the sexiest voice and accent I have ever come across. Makes a girl weak in the knees. I too miss HearMe. Get well Jon. Damn it! What is it about 2004 that has so many of us ill? A candle and special prayers for my friend.

Jon, cut this aul load of shite out, and do it now!! There's precious few enough of us folkies around, and decent banjo player's are in short supply. The operative term there is decent. Besides, you are worrying your Mother.

:^)

You are both in my prayers.

All the best,

Mick

I suppose the good news would be that if he's down, he's not charming innocent people out of their dogs...Bad news being if he's down, it'll only give him more time to brush up on his cribbage....Yikes....*bg*

Get well soon, you. You're in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi, Jon - I'll be thinking of you, hoping you'll be well soon. I fondly remember the days we used to sing together on PalTalk, before the guy in the next apartment started pounding on my wall and complaining I was singing next to his bedroom.
...but it was fun while it lasted.
Take care of yourself. You're a good guy.

Saw a follow-up note from Pip on 25 Oct at 0100 (I think that was this afternoon in Hawaii, where it's now about 10PM on the 24th...) that said he was improving but had a long way to go.

If there's any way I can help, with medical info, contacting experts, etc., I hope someone can let me know.

Aloha,
Mark

Get better soon, Jon - the world needs as many banjo players (and nice people) as possible.

Pip posted the hospital address, if you want to send a card.

First, we overwhelm him with Folkinfo & Mudcat messages, then we fill the room with cards ...

Maybe UK Mudcatters can call him when he is able to receive calls & sing to him - we could take over the hospital!
