Subject: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: GUEST Date: 24 Oct 04 - 06:27 PM This evening, I believe. For those few Mudcatters who even know who he is. Or that he called Tucker Carlson a dick--twice!--on Crossfire recently. :) Anyone planning on watching? |

Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Oct 04 - 06:35 PM I posted a link to the CNN interview. You can watch the entire thing here. If you're not a member, you have to choose one of the two slower speeds, but it's still plenty fast to see and hear the entire conversation. SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: Bill Hahn//\\ Date: 24 Oct 04 - 08:52 PM A very very clever man---oh, to have his deadpan delivery and comical insights. A day or so ago he was on CSpan with some press convention---great fun and insight. He had some fun with the reporters that were part of the guest list. Especially the NY Post---what was once a great newspaper and now is nothing but a fish wrapping rag---he jokingly replied to their reporter's question about what he finds wrong with the press----his comment---"your paper---for a starter". Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: GUEST Date: 24 Oct 04 - 08:59 PM He is VERY fast on his feet, isn't he? The book is hilarious. I work in a high school, and this book is SO much better than the "real" civics textbooks! |

Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: bflat Date: 24 Oct 04 - 11:06 PM He is brillant, sarcastic and had Steve Croft laughing throughout the interview on tonight's 60 minutes. I rarely miss his show, The Daily Show, although I probably am outside the demographic he most appeals to. I can't get enough of his humor. He is very appealing i.e., viewpoint, style, humor, intelligence, repartee and good looks. Glad to see that he is enjoying success with his book, a deligation as he put it, and recognition outside the cable audience. Ellen |

Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: Stilly River Sage Date: 24 Oct 04 - 11:28 PM They ended the 60 Minutes piece with a discussion of the slogans of the networks. Stewart remarked, for example, that the Fox slogan "Fair and Balanced" drives many folks nuts. Croft thought about it, and said "we [CBS] don't have one." Stewart's reply: "Yes you do: May Cause Drowsiness." SRS |

Subject: RE: BS: Jon Stewart on 60 Minutes From: katlaughing Date: 29 Apr 08 - 11:54 PM Just received this in an email from a friend. Jon nails it, again: Subject: A Political Question Larry King's Interview with Jon Stewart Larry asked Jon if America was ready for a woman or a black president. Jon looked at him quizzically and said, "This is such a non-question... Did anyone ask us in 2000 if Americans were ready for a MORON?" |
