Subject: BS: web sociology From: mack/misophist Date: 09 Nov 04 - 11:17 AM Here is a link to an interesting article on the sociology/politics of web communities. My take is that the founding fathers here were ahead of their time. Good work. The next step is for the people who disagree to argue instead of bashing each other. Probably impossible, I fear. |

Subject: RE: BS: web sociology From: Bill D Date: 09 Nov 04 - 11:38 AM that page tried to set about 30 cookies, in multiple domains, and was very slow in doing it....I see no need for that. |

Subject: RE: BS: web sociology From: CarolC Date: 09 Nov 04 - 06:56 PM The author reminds me of my last sociology professor. Lots and lots of words to make a pale and spongy (at best) point. (Oops! That was bashing, wasn't it?) ;-) |

Subject: RE: BS: web sociology From: mack/misophist Date: 10 Nov 04 - 03:59 PM Dear BillD, msn.com sets 13 cookies. Mudcat sets 2. Nothing odd there. The slowness may be the result of an overburdened cookie file. |
