Looks like Adairs is affordable, but there's one single room only.

Word up! Or something.

There are 3 self catering cottages in a row (more or less) on Steel Dickson Avenue. I posted the addresses and contact details in the thread wot was linked to above.
Here it is again:
Accommodation alternatives.
These would probably work out at good value since it's low season and only a weekend.

Here is the info in cut-and-paste style:

It's a cottage, although they might perhaps be conducive to people "indoor camping". It's pretty much at the shore (past the Narrows and turn left), so it'd be handy to the pubs and the like.

Aha - found it online. It sleeps 4-6:
Anchor Cottage
3 Steel Dickson Avenue
Portaferry
County Down
BT22 1LE
Telephone:        (01273) 304638
http://www.ards-council.gov.uk/accomodation.htm

MUDCAT TAKES OVER ENTIRE STREET:
Oooh, I've just found another TWO on the same street:

Inisharoan Cottage NITB approved 3 Star rating ***
7 Steele Dickson Avenue,
Portaferry,
BT22 1LE
Owners: Colin & Elma Hagan, 16 Shore Road Portaferry, BT22 1JY
Tel: 028 4272 8512
http://www.portaferry.freeserve.co.uk/Self-Catering.html

and Camomile (terrace cottage - sleeps 4)
9 Steel Dickson Avenue
Portaferry, Co Down
Northern Ireland BT22 1LG
Telephone: +44 - 012477 - 28541
http://www.travel-ireland.com/accomni/selfdwn.htm

I really, reallly hope you can all get here and stay here. I have learned yet another polka to mark the occasion. Sorry I can't be of more help in terms of arranging accommodation, but I'm in England and Portaferry, er, isn't.

If it will help any one else out , my B & B is a tentative booking and Mrs Adair said if I didnt want to make it solid that wouldnt be a problem ! So if any one is in need of an extra body to fill a place and its NOT going to cost me more than fifty quid (obviously prefer cheaper!) then let me know A S A P , so Mrs adair isnt left up in the air ! Especially if the self catering side means we can have at least some meals Mob Handed !

Well folks fingers crossed that I make it this time as I've just booked my trip on the ferry. I travel out on the Thursday [3rd] from Stranraer, returning on the Tuesday 8th, and I'm coming in my camper thingy, hope there's somewhere to park it! At least this way I can bring guitars, autoharps, whatever, and amaze you with how crap I am at playing them. Also I can bring my fishing rods in case there's any fish left in the Irish Sea.

Giok - there's a caravan site right in town (behind Fiddlers Green) and if it's not open, we'll find you somewhere to park. Great to hear you'll be coming along.

Not great at all to hear that there are other "regulars" that can't make it - that's a pity. We'll have a pint and a pancake in your honour.

Fibs, what's the new polka, and what others do you know? Or are there now too many to list? Maybe White Tiger can try learning the same ones, or she may even know one or two of them already.

If Geordie & Co are likely to come down from Bangor, I'll nudge the guys from Haste to the Wedding, who were threatening to come from Larne. It offers the prospect of some red-hot sessions, especially if Skipjack and Eric turn up (in which case be sure they surrender their passports on arrival, to prevent any swanning off to Dublin). Hopefully there will still be a place for the more amateur-level stuff to which the likes of me aspire....

Skarpi you can buses from Belfast to Portaferry via Newtownards, without going on the ferry (from Strangford// Giok was referring to his ferry from Scotland to Ireland I think). Check www.translink.co.uk journeyplanner for the bus route/times. It's not a difficult journey.

Session time! I's a comin'! Negotiations are still ongoing as to whether the Viking's Home Office Tag is valid for Ulster, as he should have been released from OFSTED on licence by then, but I have to attend the Lard Baron's Ball in Liverpool on the Friday night, and so my remains won't be loaded onto Easyjet until 11.40 Saturday. I have a hire car for €50 from Mary at Dan Dooley (good woman herself), have booked into the last available room at Adair's, and will be heading back to Belfast International for a lunchtimeish flight on the Monday. If anyone fits with any of those times, your company will be a pleasure.

Hallo all , well learning the whistle is difficult but if you but your heart in it you can do it, no proplem just hopp in and swimm.
I am trying to learn the whistle and it coming ver    y
slowly I must say.
What can I say i am man I can´t many things at once so its either the Bodhrán or the whistle so I choose the Bodhrán for a start.

I felt something strange tonight I was with my band and we where
playing a song (Icelandic ) and I felt someone enter the room
but no one came through the door, what I felt was that a woman came in to the room and she was listening to the music and the strange thing was that ... I can´t find the word, well I felt good .I told the others about this and one person was not liking this.

This is not a joke.

Well now I am gonna pray and then I am gone to bed.

P.s. The song was about the Fairy´s hmmmmmmm I wonder?
