Now, I'm sure I'm gonna get some "quiet time" for this post but in this season of sharing I would invite all my fellow Mudcatters to check into making a tax deductable (for US citizens) to the Carter Center.

Jimmy Carter is the only presidential candidate I have voted for who has won and I love the man for his pro-human philosophy. The Carter Center's work throughout the world transcends politics and religion and I would hope that all the pro-human, pro-earth here will chooze to make the Carter Center the one organization to send a few bucks to at this time of year... The money really does go to helping folks...

Well, at the risk of Max 'er someone jumpin' on this poor ol hillbilly I'd like fir my friends here to go to www.cartercenter.org and pledge 25 bucks...

What, Bobert! Pledge money to a guy who actually accepted responsibility for a failed military mission (that might have cost him re-election)? Pledge money to someone who is actually doing something to improve the world for people?

Heck, the CarterCenter is probably doing more for good in the world than all of the foriegn aid by the Bush administration...

You know, there's lots of people who talk about Jimmy Carter being a "failed politician," and unrealistic and all that stuff. I wonder if that's true. I think perhaps that Jimmy did it the wait that it should be done, and that it was the system that failed. If our political system had the integrity of a Jimmy Carter, he would have been one of our most effective presidents. Of the presidents we've had in my 56 years, he's the one I respect far and above all the others.

Carter is begathoning me to death. In one week, I got a request for money for his Habitat for Humanity program, for his Carter Center, and for the Pancreatic Cancer research. Would someone tell the guy I am unemployed and my Daddy left me enough to bury him.

He's got a book out about the revolutionary war, called "Hornets' Nest", it's a novel, but from what he said, he did his research. (My hobby is finding the mistakes in historical fiction.) I haven't read it yet, but you could always buy a copy. I'm thinking of getting one for my cousin for Christmas. Then I could read it first.
