It's nice to see a decent crop of British political threads, to compliment the US ones.

What else have people seen that they like/would like to see?

So.... do others share the sense that the music threads these days are mostly UK-oriented while the USers are mostly active in the BS section? I never quite thought of it like that, but is that how it's been?

Ted is my brother and he hunts deer and rabbits and squirrels, not foxes. He doesn't care one way or the other about flamenco or Hotbabe Thatcher, he likes folk music and songs, is clean-shaven, sometimes wears sandals, and now smokes very, very little and that out of doors.

I think that the post of 16 Dec 2004 at 9:09 a.m. is a fake.

I like to read the music section but as I am still learning A LOT, I am more apt to post in the BS section. As I learn and explore, I'm sure I'll be posting above the line too!

Good to see? I always nejoy people who post about they really LOVE. No matter what music it is... I just enjoy seeing the excitement that music can bring.

I remember the first time I heard Gee by the Crows... some people consider it the first rock and roll recording, although it was a rhythm and blues group. I used to lie on my back late at night when I was a teenager, trying to listen to WFOX in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on my portable radio (which I still have.) The signal was erratic, and I'd use my arms as antennae, trying to cathc the songs. They played rhythm and lbues (this was the early 50's.)

Hey, why am I doing this... think I'll start another thread rather than wishing someone would start it.

Jerry

I enjoy reading all the threads both Music and BS. Seems to me that even if they're originated in the US the answers come in worldwide, especially on music. It never ceases to amaze me as a child of the 50's that it is so easy to connect with someone across several time zones in the blink of an eye. Just press that send button and at least several people can see just how erudite you are, or, in my case, just what a prat you are. Keep it up please Mudcatters in all its forms for my life would be the emptier without it.

Whatever happened to Super Ted and El Ted? I find the Mudcat creation of unpersons, and its airbrushing of history, very odd. There used to be loads of posts from a charcter called El Ted in the archives. Try and find them now,,,you can't. Weird.
On the subject of the thread: things I would like to see covered in Mudcat. I've never seen much on why most Mudcatters think they are cleverer than George Bush, and you never seem to see anything about Hull. These are areas that could be expanded, I reckon.

It may be a cookie problem, Greg. Ted is still the super flamenco person he always was.

Sorry Ted but I've just noticed your posting of a couple of days ago. You're right with 'less folk' but you should note that it's 'fewer beards' and 'fewer sandals'.

Happy Haircare

Tabs = fags = cigarettes = snout = ticklers (in naval slang rolling a cigarette is known as furling a tickler).

The best cigarettes in the world are known as OP's (other peoples) or Freemans (other peoples).

yours,

P.S. Actually, what would be nice would be more of an emphasis on other folk music than the anglo-saxon or English speaking Celtic traditions. There is a world of folk music out there that we lack lyrics, etc., for.
