Today in 1971, Don McLean's 8+ minute version of "American Pie" released

(and it unfortunately has yet to stop playing.....)

On this day in 1991, Chubby Checker filed a lawsuit against McDonald's in Canada seeking $14,000 million for its alleged use of an imitation of his voice on 'The Twist', in a french fries commercial.

I used to go out with a girl who had had some things to do with the latter - all very weird. One of these things where you got locked into a room with a group of other people who had paid a large wodge of cash to find their inner self and take total responsibility for EVERYTHING in their lives. (And I mean everything. I got a bit lost at the stage where you need to accept that YOU are responsible for who your parents are.
