Subject: RE: Tsunami relief in Washington State From: Don Firth Date: 05 Jan 05 - 12:58 PM I believe Mary is volunteering several people, including me, and urging us to organize and perform some kind of benefit concert for tsunami relief. I can't speak for others, but I am doing my bit, but in a different way. I've been involved in efforts of this kind before, and I find that, unless a benefit concert is a VERY LARGE DEAL such as Farm Aid, they generally take a massive amount of money and effort to organize and promote, and tend to return about $1.98 after expenses. Sorry to be a wet blanket (especially after something like a tsunami), but I think there are better ways. Don Firth |
