Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: Rasener Date: 20 Jan 05 - 12:34 AM SL Had a look at Oakley's website. Is that what Oakley looks like. I imagined him to be somewhat more mature in age with a big goatey :-) |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: Peace Date: 20 Jan 05 - 12:40 AM I don't know how big his goatey is, but he sure can play. |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: Rasener Date: 20 Jan 05 - 12:43 AM Well I imagined him to have a Goatey a bit like the ones ZZ Top sported. :-) |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: MBSLynne Date: 20 Jan 05 - 02:06 AM Every time I try to look at Oak's website it says I've 'performed an illegal operation' and shuts everything down. Does this say something about my computer, Oakey's website or Oak himself I wonder? Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: Wrinkles Date: 20 Jan 05 - 05:44 AM Ever since the Paddy Keenan/Arty McGlynn LP "Poirt An Phíobaire" (1983)I've loved pipes/guitar combo playing. The ocassional use those together by Moving Hearts and Davy Spillane are joys too. So, lovley Lads, which of the samples on the site are examples of this combination of instruments. If I like, I'll buy the CD ;-D Wrinkles (barbara) |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: MR Date: 20 Jan 05 - 06:03 AM Wrinkles (barbara) Track one on Long Forgotten contains what your heart desires, perhaps. Mike |
Subject: RE: Aren't them Cara lads lovely From: Pistachio Date: 20 Jan 05 - 07:07 AM Wrinkles - you WILL "like/thoroughly enjoy/sit back and relax to" the Long Forgotten cd. Waste no more time. It's delightful.I posted this on another thread in Dec. "The waterfall of guitar strings lets this masterpiece flow restfully and tho' I'd prefer a 'nice bottle of Red', I find this a soothing accompaniment to ease away the ironing, the writing of letters, the thoughts of what has been and what's to come. I've floated along and just about worn out the CD. Don't ask for a favourite track, it is a complete work of emotion, sensitivity and soul. Wonderful guitar, exceptional fiddle and haunting pipes and whistles, enough said. Hazel |
