I need to pick a date for next year's Sunnycamp and have already I think conflicted two out of three years. Can someone tell me when the days are this year if they are in October. I only have three choices for the camp..first, second and third weekends of October. Second is always bad for me. First is probably best if I can get help putting the word out..it always catches me by surprise.

mg

Avoid 10/3-10/14 dates here

Thanks. Then we'll have it the first weekend if we can get the camp that time...it is best weather-wise anyway. Maybe we can have a special meal or foods in commemoration if that is OK with those of the religion...(looking for an excuse for someone to make me Latkes..do they do that on this holy day or is it for other holy days?) mg

Latkes are for Hanukkah which is in December. The first day there is Rosh Hoshannah, and traditional foods are apples with honey, and possibly other honey things like honey cake. Your out of luck for the second one though, Yom Kippur is a fasting holiday. Although that does make for a big party to break the fast when it ends, with lots of food.

WOW... Almost anything but salmon fish sounds good to me (ha).
I know it is early to promise anything but my intentions are to be there this year.

Cool. you have missed some great food in the past. We'll save a chicken wing for you instead of salmon. I do like the ideas of latkes though. Could we do them anyway? Then everyone could fast afterwards as planned. mg

No problem. you can go to both. Drive up here, fly out of Portland or Seattle. Lots of cranberries..we grow them here right where I work. mg
