Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: LilyFestre Date: 15 Feb 05 - 09:42 PM I saw some crocus peeking out last week......but the pussy willows aren't starting to bloom so I think we still have a bit of winter to get through yet! Michelle |

Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: Ebbie Date: 15 Feb 05 - 11:13 PM We've had a beautiful snowy winter this year in Juneau, Alaska. Most of the last 10 years have brought more water than white so this is lovely. Nothing poking through the snow yet. |

Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: GUEST,MMario Date: 16 Feb 05 - 11:47 AM actually did have a sign of spring the other day - a vixen in heat. Two signs if you count the geese flying west. (they confuse easily) |
Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: LadyJean Date: 17 Feb 05 - 12:55 AM I have a house! I have a front yard and a back yard for a garden. Before I even bought the place I ordered bulbs. I got them in the first Saturday in November, and now, my daffodils are peeking out of the ground, and I've seen the beginnings of crocuses. Of course the true sign of spring is the large stack of garden catalogs that have become my favorite light reading. Anyone know anything about apple trees? |
Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: gnu Date: 17 Feb 05 - 01:24 AM Loads. If you prune them to look nice, they don't fruit properly. If you prune them to friut properly, they don't look nice. It's a lot of %*^%&%^$% fun !!! |

Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: Wilfried Schaum Date: 17 Feb 05 - 04:27 AM Last friday I saw about ten great tits (Parus major) hopping and fluttering through my plum tree, and I heard a blue tit (Parus caeruleus) twitter "whet the ploughshare" as it sounds to German kids' ears. So the peasants have to get ready for ploughing in March (there is a fine German song about it in Germany). But tonight a light snow has fallen, and my garden seems to be clad in white. |
Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: Stilly River Sage Date: 17 Feb 05 - 07:53 PM More daffodils ready to burst into bloom tomorrow to join their solitary representative. Weeds are getting tall fast. My next door neighbor mowed his weeds yesterday for the first time this year. I'm sunk if the neighbor on the other side also mows. I'll have to mow this weekend. The domino effect. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: New Signs of Spring From: artbrooks Date: 17 Feb 05 - 08:35 PM The dafs I planted 3 years ago never did come up. Maybe I'll try again next year. |
