Subject: RE: BS: Fence mending in Europe From: Donuel Date: 21 Feb 05 - 09:16 AM "Support our torture, support the use of 'specialized weapons' and pleeze volunteer your kids to be heros." If European countries don't join they will suffer terrorist attacks that may be special US operations - like 9-11 or the latest Syrian blast. (on our Sunday TV talk forums almost everyone believed that our fingerprints are all over the Syrian bombing since Syria had absolutly nothing to gain from such an act, while the US went ballistic and withdrew our ambassadors.) ps I used to fence but when I moved up to sabres I discovered they caused bleeding wounds right through all the padding. |

Subject: tact and PC aside From: Donuel Date: 21 Feb 05 - 08:02 PM We have European Muslim behavior to partly thank for that. Their scoff law attitude in France, Belgium, Germany to name a few, has soured citizen sentiment toward Muslims at the grass roots level. The religious fundamentalist argument that Muslims obey a higher law has caused much consternation/predjudice. Russia of course has out right terrorism to blame for the seething hatred of Muslim jihadists. It seems that as predjudice toward the Muslim community increases in Europe, antisematism is also on the rise. I sincerely doubt that the Bushathon will result in any promises of Military support from Germany or France. Commerce is first and foremost the issue that "Europe" will want to discuss. |
