I am trying to formulate a table for my football clubs six a side event. We have decided to go hi-tech this year and create a computerised version of league tables.

Can anyone explain (or even do) an excel table that will create the amount of games played, won, drawn, lost, goals for and goals against with a points value at the end. I know that some of you are very experienced in this field and would appreciate some help and direction.

Kind Regards

Tom.

Excel expert right here. The only problem is my excel went into overload and despite the re-install still crashed-out. This happened just today.

The easiest way to start is to put text in cells - vertically, team after team.
Anf other datat horizontally. Leave the top row for a header explanation.

After that it gets complex bu PM me whe you have a list of 10 with all the columns for the other data. Or webmail me from my website

There are a few Excel files on that and my personal site. VBA cells you name it.

Still no joy with Excel crash, I just discovered Outlook uses Outlook Express - can't e-mail without it. And it got a whole lot messier at one point, and still no solution.

I used to do something like what you want to do. If I remeber right, I used if statemenets to work the points out based on the results.

pm me with your e-mail address and I will send you some spreadsheets I designed for students to learn how to do if statemenets.

Les

The answer is no I didn't get a webmail but glad you got the solution.

I found a problem with the webmail which involves IE versions before 5 (I think) in which case I suggest the dance page has another link to a simpler page. It is all about Spam prevention.
