Chord Req: June Tabor's 'Hughie Graeme'

I was wondering if anyone could suggest chords for June Tabor's version of 'Hughie Graeme' (on An Echo of Hooves)? It's not one of the traditional tunes for these words - I understand that it's based on an Appalachian tune. I think it would be very playable on guitar, but the complexity of the piano chords in the recorded version makes it hard to work them out. Has anyone managed, or shall I go on struggling with the recording and my guitar?

Not sure if June's is the same version of the song that I have Connie Dover doing, but if it is...these chords have proven successful for me.

June Tabors version is a slightly anglicised version of the Burns one in the DT. Child 191.

The tune it she sets it to is certainly not the DT one, though. If only life were simple...

Just had a quick listen to it - she's singing it in Cm, but the unusual bit is when she changes to F for some of the verses. If you capo on the third fret, then it's Am shapes changing to D shapes when necessary!

then, on verse 3 it's

This is probably the simple version, i.e. more chords can be slotted in but I think the above is a basis to work on!

Just checked with my middle son (who has perfect pitch - he must have got it from his mother, not me!) and he says that when the change to F occurs, they're adding an F9 which explains the eerie sound.
