Subject: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 08 Apr 05 - 07:54 AM The alternate thread inspired this. BTW, is a thread stopper left or right handed? |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Azizi Date: 08 Apr 05 - 08:17 AM Maybe it's genetic. Or maybe it's mind over matter. I think it's self-furfilling prophecy. Thread Stoppers put out negative vibes. They're probably Scorpios! |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 08 Apr 05 - 08:36 AM A thread stopper is an excellent idea! Some threads do seem to leak a bit. In fact, some leak a lot. I remember when the "How Many Spatulas Do You Own?" thread started leaking and before anyone could say "slotted pancake-turner" there were a dozen other spatula-related threads. Come to think of it, much of the thread leakage around here could be avoided if someone would put a stopper in Skipy's beer bottle. (Insert smiley face HERE.) |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Paco Rabanne Date: 08 Apr 05 - 11:31 AM The best way to stop a thread is to mention Australian cuisine! |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: PoppaGator Date: 08 Apr 05 - 12:19 PM I think we've already had this discussion, but the term we used was "thread killer." I've said it before and I'll say it again: In real life, I thrive on having the last word, and am loathe to allow anyone else to conclude an exchange. My wife gives me no end of grief about it: "Irish! You always have to have the last word! Just shut up already!" But here in these discussions, the last thing I want is the last word. I hate posting my comments and watching the thread disappear off the bottom of the page with no response. This has happened far too often. Here's hoping this is not one more instance... |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: GUEST,Jon Date: 08 Apr 05 - 12:23 PM Popagator, it goes back long before then. The first one I remember was one started by AllanC. I think it was called "killing the thread". It went on and on and on... |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Gray D Date: 08 Apr 05 - 07:37 PM I named myself "Gray D - Killer of threads" some time ago, due to my aptitude for the same. Somehow I feel that this time it's not going to be me though. If you're not sure whether a thread is left or right handed you could always use a cork instead . . . just a thought . . . Gray D |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Peace Date: 08 Apr 05 - 09:14 PM Gray D, I was ROTFLMAO thinking about yours being the final post to this thread. I couldn't let it happen. Sorry. Bruce M |

Subject: RE: BS: Occupation: Thread Stopper From: Azizi Date: 08 Apr 05 - 09:17 PM I invite all those posters who think they are Thread Killers to come on over to the original Occupation Thread-"Occupation ThreadStarter." I demonstrate with this invitation my faith that you aren't really ThreadStoppers-well not all the time anyway. |
