I didn't buy an electric Mandolin but I made the mistake of buying one brand new from ebay. The Mandolin is all black A style with sound hole. Its a piece of shit. The tail piece cover fell off when I pulled it back to check the strings. It doesnt stay in tune and is very poorly manufactured. No love went into making these Mandolins.I wanted to but a washburn that looked the same as the Galveston but I made the mistake of bidding on it when I was watching them both in MY Ebay.I knew what I was getting into as soon as I bid.I knew that I was going to win the auction as soon as I saw that it was a Galveston. The reason is that no one in their right mind wants one. They are shit.Poorly constructed period. This is not even a Mandolin for a beginner.I would spend a little more and stay away ,what ever you do,don't buy a galveston.I must admid though its nice and shiny.Ill hang my piece of crap mandolin on the wall and let it gather dust or mabey throw it in the wood stove. They are garbage.Don't waste your money.

Wow. Whoda thunk it? Thanks fo' the heads up. I bought a Galveston Telecaster guitar (the one with the clear acrylic body) and I am very pleased with it. It sounds terrific with the one lipstick neck pick-up and the single coil bridge pick-up. It plays very easy, too, because it was set up so nicely when I won it from eBay. I play this lots more than my Fender Nashville Deluxe Telecaster. I think the excellent physical sustain from the acrylic body is its secret.
I would never have imagined that they would make a piece of crap like the one you bought, so thanks again - I was just about to bid on an electric Galveston mandolin on eBay.
