Heloo,
I been watching a programme on channel 4 this morning [about 5.30am in the morning], i think its a kids programme, and i seen some different coloured monster type things, i think its called The Hobbs or something, they got metal monsters in it as well, like them of the Smash adverts.
i know they not real, theres somebody inside a costume, waht i want to know is, how the make 2 arms work, and its mouth?
this been puzzling me all day.

There's more then one person in the costume and they are REALLY friendly.

I believe Big Bird's operator has one hand in the head, one hand in one of the bird's hands, and a nylon string and pulley from that hand to the other hand.

Some of the puppets that aren't free-standing do have two operators. Or more.
