Subject: BS: United? I've glazed over... From: Dave the Gnome Date: 13 May 05 - 04:08 AM Well, as it sit here at my desk I am fortunate enough to be able to see the Manchester Ship Canal coming into Salford Quays, with the most stunning rising bridge across it directly in fromt of my window. Look to the right and I see the controversial stainless steel Lowry theatre. Over to the left is the other theatre - the theatre of dreams. Yes, non other than Old Trafford. I am not what you would call a big fan of any spectator sport but being in such close proximity does make me take an interest. Now that Malcolm Glazer has the majority shareholding what can I expect to see over my left shoulder in the future? Will I be able to get into work on match days through the parades of cheer leaders? Will the matches now go on for hours, with breaks every 2 minutes to determine how much possesion of the ball we have had? Come on you 'catters across the pond. Let us know what is to become of the beautiful game! Cheers Dave the Gnome |

Date: 13 May 05 - 10:19 AM As a Liverpool fan my first reaction was to LOL but thinking about the wider implications for the Premiership I wonder what will become of all our teams now that the globalisation and conglomeration of football has begun in earnest.Good luck to all you United fans that fight the good fight. |

From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 13 May 05 - 07:33 PM I am not a football fan, but one of the things this man can do now is to transfer his other business debts to the club, that could mean Manchester is saddled with debts not of its making and therefore it could go under at a later date. |
