From random grazing of threads in the BS & Music sections, it seems to me most folk comments are from UK 'catters, but the BS part appears most to do do with US politics, the invasion of Iraq & US Govt lies & other misdeeds.

Am I mistaken?

Comments please:

I think it's a "what time is it?" kinda thing. When Prince Chas & Camilla married, that was all the rage for a few days. You can set your preferences to give you the Music stuff on top & the bs stuff on the bottom of all that so you can just do the Music stuff. Whatever.

I'm from the U.S., and I post a lot of musical things.

I never did a count, but I do know that some of the silliest BS is from UK members. (100th thread, dead Hamsters...etc.)

We in the US seem to explore more serious BS.

I'm not sure what it all indicates.

Would that put Canadians somewhere in between? It does seem that we tend to be rather serious about our silly BS. Or is that just a load of BS?

The title "obervation" seems more-or-less valid, except that:

1) Not everyone making comments about US foreign policy (e.g., Iraq, etc.) is an American. The issues affect everyone in the world, and plenty of Brits, Irish, and other Europeans participate in the BS topics concerning US politics.

2) Many of the threads up in the music section that involve almost-completely-UK participation are about musical/social events, such as sessions and festivals and members's gigs. This is because more of the UK Mudcatters are in personal real-life contact with each other, thanks to their geographical proximity. Threads about musicology, lyrics, instruments, etc. ~ i.e., about music per se rather than musical events ~ generally have at least as much US as UK participation. Seems that way to me, anyway.

Sorry, but I have absolutely nothing to say about Sidmouth.

Judging strictly by their titles, there are currently 32 threads in the music section that would probably be of interest to UK folks only. There are only six that would only interest Yanks.

Yeah its an odd business though, you never get anybody saying theres this great morris dancing team in Tuskegee, Alabama tonight at the Red Lion pub. Or anything really come to that - they don't chat about their clubs and gigs like us, why ......? personally speaking I think it would add a lot of colour if somebody from over there starting talking about one of their gigs - or somebody else started reviewing.

It would be nice if Jerry, Jed or Chris (or even man of mystery - Martin) started the ball rolling. I'd be really fascinated to hear what they get up to!

all the best
