Subject: BS: Thanks, Baltimoreans From: GUEST,leeneia Date: 18 Jun 05 - 02:40 PM A few weeks ago, I asked Mudcatters for tips on what to do in Baltimore for a day. Following various suggestions, we took the light rail to the Inner Harbor and spent most of a day there. We enjoyed it very much - the boats, Fort McHenry, the sea food. We rode the water taxi "Indomitable" out to the fort. Saw its partner, the "Indefatigable." Now I know that was a famous boat, but whose was it? The most important part was listening to the Naval Academy Choir sing "The Star Spangled Banner". It made me cry - partly for patriotic reasons, but also because the singers, especially the tenors, sound like such kids. To me they sounded like they ought to be headed out for a soccer game, not to war. So thanks for a meaningful day. |
