Subject: Lyr Add: The Whore Song
From: michaelr
Date: 24 Jun 05 - 07:03 PM

Walking in the park
Life was such a bore
Goddamn sonofabitch
I couldn't find a whore

Finally found a whore
She was tall and thin
Goddamn sonofabitch
I couldn't get it in

Finally got it in
Moved it all about
Goddamn sonofabitch
I couldn't get it out

Finally got it out
It was red and sore
Goddamn sonofabitch
Shouldn't have fucked that whore

Cheers,
Michael

You'll find other versions (often called Canal Street) here, here, here, and here and probably in other threads as well

I heard it in Michigan in 1962. "Teensy-weensy Spider" tune.

michaelr, Thanks for the song. As you can tell, I don't regularly read mudcat.

So michaelr when & where did you learn this song? What tune do you use? I know of "Bell Bottom Trowsers" & "Candy Man".

Would you be willing to sing it over the phone to me?

Any help is appreciated.

Yours,

John Mehlberg

John, it was recited to me by a friend some years back. I've never heard it sung.

Cheers,
Michael

A version of this song is on record by Doug Clark and the Hot Nutts on one of their albums.
