Subject: RE: BS: What's going on in Whitehorse, YT From: Ebbie Date: 11 Jul 05 - 07:42 PM I know a couple or a few of Whitehorse(ians). I just did a people search for two of them and since they're not in the US it gave me nothin'. But they're cool people. They perform as a duet. She plays autoharp and sings, he sings and plays guitar. She is quite shy and hides behind a fall of strawberry hair when on stage. He is bearded; both of them appear fit and tough as nails. They recently sold their dog teams when they retired after 30+ years of running several traplines in the bush. The subtitle under their names is 'Fortified by Moose Meat'. He has written a couple of funny songs about the bush. Instead of living in their trapline cabins, they now have a large house in Whitehorse where they often host music. There are a couple of other people I know there and in Carcross, notably a Tlingit ex-wrangler turned to Cowboy singer. Buddy Tabor of Juneau once wrote a great song about him, called 'Go Ask that Old Cowboy'. I would be able to get in touch with these people if your interest has been piqued! But don't forget, Rap, you are going to call me when you get to Juneau, nyet? |
