You should know where this is by now. I will put a link in in a minute. I might even put one in to previous relevant threads.

We are now regular (-ish) 3rd Sat (if we do a bit better than the 23rd July) of each month.

Same situation regarding those who wish to stay - let me know in good time so I can allocate spare beds and whatever. I think the plan of doing a vegetarian stew for those who need nutriment the Sunday PM may also continue. Mumblin Len and Girl Friday can confirm it is tasty and non-toxic (at least I hope so, I have not lately heard from them!). "Spare whatever" does not apply to gender-specific company - bring your own.

I have spoken to Sally the landlady, and she was very tired on the 23rd July, and this explains any perceived happiness to turf (or hoover) us out (at well past the witching hour). If I stay sober enough I may chase us out a bit (but not too much) earlier in future.

The 20th August is likely to be a well-filled pub, various village people are celebrating birthmasses or birthiversaries, or whatever, so we will (probably) have an audience which may be a little bouncy and we will NEED to keep them amused! This can be good if we play it right. Simon's arrangement of "We will Rock you" (on the subject of Michael Jackson) is the subject of several outstanding requests from after he went home.

Everyone hone up songs like Alice "Who the fuck is Alice?" and rude variants and drinking songs, and we should have a splendid night.

Some diddlers would be welcome - fiddlers who can lead a tune as well as sit in on a song, banjo-players likewise, even squeezers. Rhythm players with spoons and bodhrans and triangles and even eggs are also welcome. Such players and flautists and recorder and whistle players just be sensitive and remember that in folk these are accompanying instruments and you take your timing from the singer (and if you and another banger are conflicting, drop out). A mandolin other than mine would be good, on the same basis.

Keyboards players bring your own keyboard with onboard sound - in emergency I can supply a Yamaha DX7 and very small amp.

Full kit drum players - sorry.

I think I may have to say - Rima was the star of the last one.

Previous stars have included Brian Rodgers, and Jeff Cole.

A Yamaha DX7 and very small amp. Hmmmph! I used to have a BSA 650 with twin carbs but I would never dream of bringing it in to an akoostik session! Really! Thin end of da wedgie, and all that.........

Posible deal with the pub for Sunday roast at up to 3 or 4 PM sunday at mildly concessionary prices. Let me know or check with me for pub no for fone to pre-book. If not pre-booked, no concessinary rate and maybe no food.

Groo! Do I have an overhang? Three much.

Only 5 of us to perform, but a good turnout of locals to listen (and drink) and much heckled sven and a very good time was had by all.

New record for bedtime - 10 to 7 this morning although we did leave the pub considerably earlier (err- about 2 am!)

A new thread will be started for the next one.
