Subject: Lake District Sessions? From: silverfish Date: 05 Aug 05 - 05:18 PM I'm an impecuniate singer/songwriter spending a few days (7th to 14th Aug) in the Lake District. Does any kind soul know of any sessions within a reasonable travelling distance of Bowness-on-Windermere during that period? I'd be grateful for any pointers. Thanks |

Subject: RE: Lake District Sessions? From: The Unicorn Man Date: 07 Aug 05 - 02:41 AM I don't know how near or far they are, but Wednesday is Whitby at the Friends of Rowing Club or some such name, and Friday is Robin Hoods Bay at The Dolphin. Both very good. |
Subject: RE: Lake District Sessions? From: silverfish Date: 07 Aug 05 - 04:03 AM Thanks for the help, folks. Sunday morning, just about to hit the road north. No time left to practice my jigs 'n reels - as I recollect they play them at lightspeed up in that part of the country! Cheers, Martin. Catch you when I get back. |
Subject: RE: Lake District Sessions? From: GUEST,Welsh Weasel Date: 07 Aug 05 - 10:27 AM Hi there Try the Queen's Head in Keswick on Tuesdays which is amplified but encourages floor singers, or the Old dungeon Ghyll, Langdale on (I think - Phone 'em to check) Thursdays, an informal session. Both are excellent fun and very friendly. Cheers Wayne |
