Subject: RE: Song Circle at SINSULL's From: Bat Goddess Date: 28 Aug 05 - 04:38 PM Jeri, I think it was a really nice touch that you brought straws to go with that swill. It's prolly got too much sugar in it to keep the ice off your windshield this winter. Silver Satin is probably better for that purpose. I just emailed the carrot cake lady (Carol of Crafts & Yummies on Rte. 152 in Lee, NH) to tell her the cake was a great success and the recipe is a keeper -- it was the first time she'd used that recipe. Let's see if anyone can guess the theme of the singaround last night. Tom kicked it off with his cowboy song (poor cowboy blinded by, uh, something). I sang "Down Below" and something else that was on theme, but it'll have to float to the top before I can think of it. Jacqui sang a sweet song about an injured bird and a cow named Buttercup. There were a few other songs in keeping with the subject. Hey, did anybody notice Mark Cohen's thread about "G-L-O-R-Y We Are S-A-V-E-D"? I think Mark was with us in spirit or something, cuz I sang a similar version last night. Linn Linn |
Subject: RE: Song Circle at SINSULL's From: Jeri Date: 28 Aug 05 - 07:20 PM Sister Mary Loquatiousness, bite me. Will PM my address. I think perhaps I'll learn how to pickle eggs before the next 'do'. |
Subject: RE: Song Circle at SINSULL's From: Uncle Jaque Date: 28 Aug 05 - 11:57 PM Sounds like the group could use a version of the "Uncle Jaque Memorial Pavillion"; Uncle Jaque's Memorial Pavillion; Open for Business It served it's purpose quite well during our encampment this weekend. We just had to evict a spider who had set up shop in the chute (fabricated from an inverted 5-gal. plastic bucket under the "bench" made from a discarded formica counter-top) so we wouldn't have to risk a bit butt (spider bites smart!). I've got the plans around somewhere if anyone wants to build a replica. Actually, I had intended to build a modular version with base, walls, and roof that could be transported seperately and assembled over a hastilly dug pit in someone's field or back yard. It could be done! Glad a good time was had by all - hope to make the next one! |
Subject: RE: Song Circle at SINSULL's From: SINSULL Date: 29 Aug 05 - 08:37 PM Jacque, Did you check for wasp nests? I understand Charlie provided those a few years back. I hope we'll see you in September. You are missing some wonderful evenings. By the way, Jeri's swill isn't half bad over raspberry sorbet. SINS |
