Hello my name is Tom Hamilton, I live in Saltcoats Scotland, and I would like to know where in Glasgow is Kelvinhuagh, I where Kelvigrove is and the Broomielaw, but Idon't know where Kelvinhaugh is.
I would be really grateful to anyone who can help me.

Geographically a haugh is a low lying pice of ground usually beside a river, it is reckoned that the derivation of the name of the town of Hamilton in Lanarkshire derives from Haugh Mill Town, lying as it does near the confluence of the Clyde and the Avon. If you look at the river Kelvin in its' present state as it flows through Glasgow you will find the river bank is mostly built up, and any flat riverside land that did exist is now gone. Therefore I suggest that Kelvinhaugh where the bleacher lassie plied her trade is now long gone.

Kelvinhaugh is the next district to the east of Yorkhill, between the Queen Mother Hospital and the SECC, very close to Finnieston. It's about half a mile from the River Kelvin. There's a Kelvinhaugh Street there, and a Haugh Road.
