Thanks, BWL. Someone told me to google failure and I laughed when that came up. Nice to know why.

Actually, I think the finest example of Googlebombing happened a while back (earlier this year, maybe -- I forget, exactly), when someone noticed that Googling the word "Judaism" brought up a lot of neo-Nazi sites at the the top of the search page.

So the word went out to bloggers to put a link to Wikipedia's article on Judaism on their journal pages, since Google's search engine also ranks the importance of a site by how many other people link to it.

Within a day or so, the Wikipedia article was at the top of the list, and the Neo-Nazi sites were knocked back to secondary pages.

The power of knowledge and education overcoming hate -- that's Googlebombing at its finest!
