This Sunday, October 9th, the Missouri Valley Folklife Society, a not-for-profit org, is giving a concert with three wonderful Scottish musicians. Brian MacNeill, fiddle etc; Ed Miller, vocals; John Taylor, "superb fiddler".

7 pm. All Souls Unitarian Church, 4501 Walnut. $20 general admission. $10 students. Kids 6 and under, free.

I'm not familiar with Ed Miller and John Taylor, but I have been hearing Brian MacNeill for a good many years. The first time I played Brian's music at home, my husband listened, then his eyes widened, and he said, "You mean that's just ONE GUY?"

Ed Miller is originally from Scotland, but he lives somewhere near Austin, Texas......A fine vocalist and wonderful person..........Brian produced Ed's last cd......they are great together....I'm not familiar with John Taylor...Frank of Toledo

Briam McNeill is a superb guitarist and an even better fiddler but his live performances suck for me.

Too intense, too much angst, he needs a few chill-out pills.

Developing a sense of humour wouldn't do any harm either.

But, as I said, an amazing instrumentalist.

Guest, I believe you have Brian MacNeill confused with someone else. I have never seen him pick up a guitar.
