We were discussing famous mothers and daughters the other day at work, some obvious names were Judy Garland and Lisa Minelli etc. One lady assured us that Susan Lucci (sic) was the daughter of Phylis Diller,, can anyone confirm this ?. I don't think so but this lady assured us that it is true.?

Apparently her musicianship was well-hidden for a number of years. I heard her in an interview, I think with Dick Cavett, where she expanded on the subject. She was called by someone at a symphony orchestra who wanted her to appear in conjunction with a symphony performance. She was pleased and asked them what she would play, and they were surprised that she played piano because they had in mind a speaking performance. It evolved from that.

By the way, Phyllis Diller does (or did) have a daughter named Susan, who would be about the same age as Susan Lucci. I know because Sue Diller attended Southwest High School in St. Louis, c1961-65, the same time I did. I have no idea what happened to her since then.

Thanks all, I had my suspicions about the Lucci/ Diller connection.
I know one of the leading ladies on Law and Order is the daughter of Jane Mansfield and Micket Hegarty (sic). She was intereviewed on Jay Leno not so long ago. Her first name is Marista or something similar, I am not a big TV fan.

I think it's Mariska Hartigay. (But don't quote me.) I have no idea why she's a "personality" except that her pose for the "Allure" skin care products add was quite fetching. (One of my kids brought it to my attention.)

Yup. I think I heard her interviewed on Terry Gross's "Fresh Air" recently, or maybe it was "This American Life." Anyway, it was an interesting piece.

This is the only thing I'd seen, and that only 'cause son showed it to me. Judging by the resume at IMDb I guess I just haven't been watching enough TV to recognize her - or maybe just not paying attention. A nice picture. A bit "risque" for US TV advertising, but may have been in some of the fashion mags.
