Subject: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: GUEST,Curious. Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:32 PM not showing up as members when one attempts to 'send a personal message'? |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Stilly River Sage Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:38 PM If you're not an enrolled member you can't reach any of the Mudcat members with PM. Sign up and you'll find they're all accessible. SRS |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: GUEST,Curious Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:40 PM Try to send a personal message to Elmer Fudd. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Dead Horse Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:41 PM But it sure would help if members sent in their profile with piccies, draped or undraped (that's with or without curtains, OK?) |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Jeri Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:41 PM Spelling? This might also mean punctuation and symbols such as '_' If you can find a post by them, you can just click on the 'PM' by their name. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Bill D Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:46 PM hmmm...that is curious. No Elmer Fudd listed. It is possible to change your name in between posts, but then the listings for Elmer Fudd would disappear... |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Bill D Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:50 PM Now, I CAN PM Elmer from a thread...just not from the listing in member names.....some quirk in the software, I guess. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Jeri Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:51 PM No, Bill - something's screwed up. Clicking the 'PM' link works. Weird. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Jeri Date: 22 Oct 05 - 11:52 PM I type too slow, dammit. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Elmer Fudd Date: 23 Oct 05 - 01:53 AM What's up Doc? Is someone trying to reach me? I've received PMs as recently as yesterday. Elmer |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Tig Date: 23 Oct 05 - 09:38 AM Same thing happens if you try to contact Bill t'bodger as well. Hmmmm - maybe they don't WANT to be found! |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Rapparee Date: 23 Oct 05 - 10:04 AM They only exist when they post. Otherwise, they are less than figments of your imagination. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: MBSLynne Date: 23 Oct 05 - 10:08 AM You're right! When you type Elmer Fudd in to the Persobnal Message bit it says "Not found". Love Lynne |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: GUEST,Art Thieme Date: 23 Oct 05 - 10:11 AM I'm told that I'm a member, yet when I try to see the 28 or so P.M.s it says are waiting to be read, I am told I'm not a member. When I post to a thread I am called GUEST. I have tried clocking out and rejoining to no avail. Such is life... Art |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Joe Offer Date: 23 Oct 05 - 10:13 AM Yeah, it's an anomaly that happened with our Big Crash this last summer. The database that feeds our "send a personal message" function does not have our newer members. The "PM" link on messages sent by that member, should work. You can find posts by members by using the Old Advanced Forum Search in QuickLinks. Gee, it's like the old days, when we had to figure out workarounds for things that didn't work like we wanted them to. I'm sorry that we have all these functions that aren't working properly. They will be fixed, but we still have to achieve a greater level of stability before it's worthwhile to fix them. All I can say is that we know what the problem is, and we're working on it. -Joe Offer- |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Rapparee Date: 23 Oct 05 - 10:17 AM Actually, Joe, I kinda figured it was something like that. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: GUEST,Art Thieme Date: 23 Oct 05 - 04:54 PM Joe, No problem! This place is special, and even if the site lost half of what is here every day, it would continue being an exceptional resource!! Thanks to all the clones and everyone. Art |

Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: Wilfried Schaum Date: 24 Oct 05 - 11:57 AM Tannywheeler - Jerry doesn't talk about the Art that is him but about the art that is it, methinks. |
Subject: RE: BS: Why are some people with Mudcat names From: GUEST,Art Thieme Date: 24 Oct 05 - 12:00 PM Tannywheeler, Thanks so much. I'm glad! It sure was great of Sandy Paton to make that Folk Legacy recording of mine available in this new format. On we go... Art |
