Subject: BS: Frat Boy Gets Another Pass... From: Bobert Date: 28 Oct 05 - 06:49 PM Ahhhhh, anyone noticin' how the media keeps giving Bush the beefit of the doubt??? In the last week I've heard al;most a chorus of media folks atlkin' about how after the "indictments" Bush can begin to recover his presidency... This si the same media that hounded Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton right up to the last day's of their administration... Yet, Drunk Frat Boy keeps gettin' these new and wonderfaul opportunities to salvage his 2nd term??? I gettin'a little sick of it... Face it, DFB, has never been successful at runnin' anything so why is it that the media thinks he can salvage a presidency that is hopelessly screwed??? Like, exactly what, given his history, is ti that the media thinks he'll do better??? I'm serious... I think we've seen all there is to this man... His is arrogant... He is stubboprn and he doesn't particularilly like having to deal with complex situations so he doesn't bother listening to second and third opinions or ideaas because they clutteer his mind... Hey, folks, htis is what psycologists refer to as a "personality disorder"... So why is anyone expectin' him to change??? Reminds me of a' 'ol joke from my days in social work: How many social workers does it take to chage a light bulb? Answer: One, but it has to want to be changed... But bottom line, why the "pass" fir Frat Boy??? Who says he can or will turn around his problems??? Why does the press assume he can when they were relentless aginst Carter and Clinton??? And even to some extend, Bush I??? Bobert |

Subject: RE: BS: Frat Boy Gets Another Pass... From: Ebbie Date: 28 Oct 05 - 07:21 PM The scary part is that he still has three years to show us how bad it can get. I think you are right- the man is not capable of doing better. The only way he could is if he had an epiphany of sorts, fired all his advisors and brought in some thinking people who have a grasp of cause and effect, have the wisdom to recognize and acknowledge the validity of other nations' concerns, can see beyond their own petty agendas, and who, above all, love their country and want to see it DO RIGHT. |

Subject: RE: BS: Frat Boy Gets Another Pass... From: Amos Date: 28 Oct 05 - 08:41 PM The only epiphany, as far as present data indicates to me, of which he is capable is the one that brought him out of a drunken stupor and into the ever-lovin' arms of Jayzus. He has talked of very little else since. It solved a lot of problems, by holding them behind a dike of sanctimony and prefabricated certainty; but it didn't help his personality much. As fer yer question, Bobert, it is because he has used the whip and the chair against the press in such a way that they don't want to show their teeth. His machine, under Rove and Wolfowitz, has managed to buy, fire, jail, or intimidate every journalist within reach, with a few notable exceptions. He just yells "9-11" at 'em until they slink away.... :) A |

Subject: RE: BS: Frat Boy Gets Another Pass... From: dianavan Date: 29 Oct 05 - 01:38 AM "...buy, fire, jail or intimidate..." is exactly right, Amos. Look at what has happened in the Valerie Plame case and don't forget to add 'shoot' as in the case of Sgrena. To publish the truth is like making a death wish under the present administration of the United States. |

As Bush once said, "You're either for us or against us." He obviously meant what he said. |
