Subject: BS: Muslin Violins From: Little Hawk Date: 01 Nov 05 - 12:50 PM They're really comfortable to play. Anyone know where I can get one? |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Don Firth Date: 01 Nov 05 - 01:33 PM They require a slightly different technique. Instead of a bow, you play them with a salaam. Don Firth |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: pdq Date: 01 Nov 05 - 02:44 PM Canada has an ever-increasing population of moose limbs. Yep, four times as many moose limbs as there are moose. Or is it five? |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Lonesome EJ Date: 01 Nov 05 - 03:35 PM In my opinion, Muslin Violins represents the greatest threat to orchestral rigidity in the world today. I can't believe LH would call them "comfortable" based on such flimsy evidence. |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Little Hawk Date: 01 Nov 05 - 03:39 PM LOL! Horse puckey, LEJ! You're full of mungo beans. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: GUEST,Martin Gibson Date: 01 Nov 05 - 05:15 PM Muslin violins are played with a combination bow/knife for jihad purposes only. A Fiddler On the Roof will never play an instrument of such poor quality. besides, it might be wired to blow up. |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Jeri Date: 01 Nov 05 - 05:17 PM The reading comprehension problem CAN be funny at times, no? Must go read about Republicans whining now, ta-ta (giggle). |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Rapparee Date: 01 Nov 05 - 05:18 PM Aw, he's making this up out of whole cloth! You can't hold a patch to LH -- even his woofers are warped. Anyone who thinks that Bill Shatner is the bee's knees obviously isn't stitched to tight. So I'd ignore this thread except that I thought it read "Muslim violins" and I wanted to know more about them by bowing to LH's obviously superior knowledge. |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Dead Horse Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:04 AM The two-string variety known as Gawds are mostly used for playing religeous pieces, whereas the more popular four-stringed instruments are called Fidels and are ideal for Latin American rhythms. Stained a deep shade of indigo they may be used for Bluegrass but the inherant drool associated with this style does tend to soften the notes and make the instruments unplayable. Should be played on the hip, rather like an AK47, and not under the chin like a bazooki, which incidentally, Italians call Piats! |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: open mike Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:16 AM they weave a beautiful tune, spun thru and thru with the threads of song, which forms the fiber of dreams of the composer. this speaks to the fabric of the soul of the listener. |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: Charlie Baum Date: 04 Nov 05 - 08:27 AM The Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington, DC is about to open up an exhibition called Picturing the Banjo. Admittedly, it's banjos rather than fiddles, but I wonder if at least some of the paintings might be done on muslin canvasses? |

Subject: RE: BS: Muslin Violins From: GUEST,Sue Leopard Date: 05 Nov 05 - 10:12 PM Muslin violins ? I don't think I fancy fiddling with them but muslin banjos are a great idea. I don't mind if my boyfriend buys one of them. They are obviously quiet, but do they go limp in the cold, wet climate of Britain ? |

The only ones that are digitally created are the kaliedoscopic pictures. The dolphin cello is currently in Japan, the devil violin is in China, the snake violin is in DC and the Escher violin is in Greece...etc Only about 30 still exist. |
