Subject: In this day and age From: Alan Day Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:50 PM In this day and age why do shirt collar labels itch? Al |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Cluin Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:56 PM Why do we still wear ties? |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Cluin Date: 03 Nov 05 - 05:56 PM (BTW, this should be BS) |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Amos Date: 03 Nov 05 - 06:18 PM Why do we use construction techniques unchanged since the 12th century? Why do we resort to absurd mythologies invented by our 2^10th ancestors to understand life with? Why do we refuse to develop large scale adjustments to environmental declines or change our habits of consumption when they breed damage to the air and water? Why do we resort to violent slaughter as the solution of economic communication failures? Gee...I dunno!! Maybe we are hard of learning? Some of us, anyway. After all, innovation is scary, especially when you go it alone. A |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Cluin Date: 03 Nov 05 - 06:56 PM In this day and age, why do things like the disgraceful situation at Kashechewan Reserve happen? |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: GUEST Date: 03 Nov 05 - 07:26 PM I have just solved this by admitting that I have put on weight and buying shirts with larger collars. |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Allan C. Date: 03 Nov 05 - 07:43 PM Yeah, it is bad enough that so many shirts have the brand name and/or logo on the outside, but then they have to go and include those damned stiff tags on the inside. And worse, when you try to remove them the whole seam rips apart. Gr-r-r-r! I'll have to add, though, that I really appreciated those t-shirt companies that started printing the labels directly onto the inside of the shirts. I wish more firms would follow suit. |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 03 Nov 05 - 07:55 PM Why do they have labels fixed on shirts anyway, rather then just detachable? I suppose if you got really bored in the bathroom someday you might get round to reading the labels on your clothes. |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: open mike Date: 04 Nov 05 - 01:11 AM there is a recording company called razor and tie... because they planned to deal with those things in name only... ....evolve! |

Subject: RE: In this day and age From: GUEST,Alan Day Date: 04 Nov 05 - 05:18 AM In this day and age ,why do we poke up with legal small print that only solicitors understand? Al |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Wesley S Date: 04 Nov 05 - 09:27 AM In this day and age why do we think that there is an answer to every question ? :) |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Bill D Date: 04 Nov 05 - 09:33 AM ♫"Why, oh why, oh why, oh why, Why, oh why, oh why,? Because, because, because, because. Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye." ♫ Woodie Guthrie> |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Allan C. Date: 04 Nov 05 - 10:21 AM Taking Alan Day's comment a little further: Why do they require those inane legal addenda to radio commercials for automobiles that are spoken so quickly as to be unintelligible? If nobody can understand them, then what's the point? |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Bill D Date: 04 Nov 05 - 10:33 AM in the same vein, why, in TV commercials for financial entities, do they flash a screen full of legal disclaimer and exceptions in 4 point type, for all of 3.279 seconds? I want to see a court case where some little old lady is being evicted from her house because she failed to read it all before she committed her life savings to DiTech. |

You have just answered all the major questions of the universe--like why hotdog companies and h.d.bun companies can't coordinate package contents; why wire hangers seem to multiply in the back of the closet; why is the sky blue, Daddy; why do women love men; why do men love them; why babies.......... You may have found yourself a new career. Make a business card: Bill D.--Questions Answered, Conundrums Solved. Tw |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Cluin Date: 04 Nov 05 - 03:31 PM Why do they flash the credits for a movie in the trailer on TV in small type for a fraction of a second? 1. Who can read it that fast without some sort of TiVO pause feature 2. Who gives a shit that much to even bother? |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: leftydee Date: 04 Nov 05 - 03:48 PM Why in this day and age is there no universal health care in the USA? I know the answer: GREED |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: bobad Date: 04 Nov 05 - 03:56 PM "Why in this day and age is there no universal health care in the USA?" It's to keep the scourge of socialism from getting a foothold in Amerika. My god, universal health care, next it'll be the collectivization of farms and industry. |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Cluin Date: 04 Nov 05 - 04:23 PM Then they'll be coming for your children to send them off to fight in Afghanistan. |
Subject: RE: In this day and age From: Ron Davies Date: 04 Nov 05 - 10:35 PM A lot of the shirt collars are plastic. (The topic rated an article in the Wall St Journal, believe it or not). |
