Why do we use construction techniques unchanged since the 12th century? Why do we resort to absurd mythologies invented by our 2^10th ancestors to understand life with? Why do we refuse to develop large scale adjustments to environmental declines or change our habits of consumption when they breed damage to the air and water? Why do we resort to violent slaughter as the solution of economic communication failures?

Gee...I dunno!! Maybe we are hard of learning?

I have just solved this by admitting that I have put on weight and buying shirts with larger collars.

Yeah, it is bad enough that so many shirts have the brand name and/or logo on the outside,but then they have to go and include those damned stiff tags on the inside. And worse, when you try to remove them the whole seam rips apart. Gr-r-r-r! I'll have to add, though, that I really appreciated those t-shirt companies that started printing the labels directly onto the inside of the shirts. I wish more firms would follow suit.

Why do they have labels fixed on shirts anyway, rather then just detachable? I suppose if you got really bored in the bathroom someday you might get round to reading the labels on your clothes.

Taking Alan Day's comment a little further: Why do they require those inane legal addenda to radio commercials for automobiles that are spoken so quickly as to be unintelligible? If nobody can understand them, then what's the point?

in the same vein, why, in TV commercials for financial entities, do they flash a screen full of legal disclaimer and exceptions in 4 point type, for all of 3.279 seconds? I want to see a court case where some little old lady is being evicted from her house because she failed to read it all before she committed her life savings to DiTech.

Why do they flash the credits for a movie in the trailer on TV in small type for a fraction of a second?

1. Who can read it that fast without some sort of TiVO pause feature
