That's true. I forgot which Islamic cleric it was who said nearly the same about Sharon as Robertson did. If so many religious extremists agree that the stroke was god's work and only have a minor disagreement about for what reason god did it it must be true.

Not to forget the Jewish extremists who performed a solemn death curse regarding Sharon last summer and asked god to kill him. They now openly thank god for listening to them.

I find in my many visits to the USA that the Country suffers from a very large overdose of bible-thumpers, turn your TV on any time of day and you are sure to tune in to one of these con-men.

I don`t see a lot of difference in Islam and Christianity when it comes to intolerance, those American pulpit-punchers are on a par with any Isamic cleric.

Yeah and we have a quilters group that comes in on Monday mornings to make un-fancy quilts, filled with batting thanks to a Serta plant nearby, and they donate the blankets/quilts to a Salvation Army battered womens' shelter-to moms and kids-and they get to keep them. Local soup kitchen is running outta food for homeless and poor neighborhood kids too. Meanwhile that buttwipe Robertson is out there on cable everyday spewing his hatred and judgemental CRAP in the name of Christians rakin' in dough from homebound widows and suckers who think his toothy smile is purely divine--makes me wanna puke!!! Any Christian who doesnt worry about the plight of the middle east, Israel, Arameans just is Biblically ignorant. Anyone who'd celebrate somebody having a stroke like Sharon is a fool.

Did no one catch Pat's remark night before last that Ariel Sharon's stroke was God's punishment for giving away "God's land"?

Bin Laden undoubtedly thinks it was God's punishment for not giving it back fast enough. Both agree that Katrina was Divine punishment for America's sins, and that more earthquakes, hurricanes, and miseries lie in the future.

It's wonderful when people can agree.

Read last month's issue of Mother Jones, folks; devoted entirely to the Christian conservatives. People like Robertson have tons of money and behind-the-scenes orgs. which funnel it to further their dominionist agenda in taking over our country. There is one article from last month's MoJo which is still online. It's called "Nation Under God."

His program runs everday at 10a in our fair city and there are a LOT of viewers...that's the scarey part. Around here the evangelicals have industrial complex-looking churches which cater to one's every need. They ARE filling a gap of some sort in a lot of folks' lives. It would behoove us to figure out how to reach those folks and offer them an alternative...that is, if they aren't already too brainwashed.

The thing nobody seems to notice is that Pat Robertson is the man behind the y2k bug scare that made fools out of so many people, and had a lot of computer programmers working overtime 6 years ago. He started flogging the idea that all the computers would shut down at midnight on New Year's eve of the year 2000 in spring of 1999. By November the mainstream media was picking it up, and pressing it as a possibility, which it never was. He created a panic and never had to answer for it.
I'm waiting for him to start the next one. He's got his own TV show to spread all the deadly rumors he wants to.
OH! After Katrina, FEMA listed Robertson's Operation Blessing as a charity to support if you wanted to support hurricane survivors. Half of all donations to Operation Blessing go to Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network.
