Y'know, Bobert, it sorta feels that way. It seems not that long ago that I had the previous birthday. But then I think of all of the unbelievably wonderful things that have happened since then and wonder how it all got crammed into such a short time. Indeed, I find myself wondering the same thing about my whole life. Wow! I've done a lot of stuff, have seen so many wonders, have heard such beauty, have met such fabulous folks and have married the woman of my dreams. That's a heck of a lot for just 59 years. Hm-m-m... I wonder how much I can do between now and 60?

Thanks everyone for the good wishes and kind remarks. This was a great birthday for me in more ways than I can say.

I just read something yesterday by a woman who was surprised at the surprise of her friends who were turning 40, and +. "What did they THINK was gonna happen?!"

Thanks for sharing your undeniable joy of living. Have you ever noticed that the word "enjoy" really means "to cause OTHERS to have joy", not just to get joy yourself? I mean really, look at "encourage", "empower", etc. I had an epiphany about that word about a year ago, and you do a good job of living it out, Allan.

My name is also Allan C. but not the same one. Livin' on West Coast. Relatives partly from Missouri handed down this version in our family. One of my relatives was a Station master, Missouri-Pacific [MoPac] railway.   While researching this topic, the first version I happened on that contained the name "station master" was from the Allan C. with many mudcat messages from prior to 2009. Would like to email him re this but don't know where.
