Unfortunately the 17th is family Chrimbo get together (four generations of us) chez Thompson, so can't make it this time either.

Well, here we are then - looks like Jeff and me, John and Simon.

The beer is ready (I tested a pint last night, spot on, it's drinking very nicely) but I've told the landlady not to expect too many folkies.

You will remember I was doubtful whether this would be a good date, and was hlaf minded (until persuaded otherwise) not to have a December one. Looks like I might have been right.

Unless I hear otherwise, I will make up no beds.

and quite a few listening.

No sign of Annie Fay or Alfie who were, as a result of a last minute phone call, thought likely.

Fisheye and George were very faded (not through alcohol) and did not stop over. I too was very faded (also not through excessive alcohol although I had a few) so the music broke up quite early, maybe 1-ish.

So spare beds got made, but not slept in, which means they are now ready for the Xmas invaders and work is saved!

Some more Xmas shopping and duties to perform, and the chainsaw to sharpen and then blunten again so that we have yule logs!

There are only a limited number of truckstops on or near the A2 where you can lose a fanny at 7 pm, even on a Saturday, without others noticing, so let us hope they are found again. Alfalfa on the A2 (except in the load area of a truck) would be very rare, even if it were in use in adjacent fields.
