What a way to spend Christmas - Strollin' Johnny is in hospital for the festive season after collapsing at work on Wednesday. The diagnosis is pancreatitis and the treatment includes not being allowed anything to eat or drink. I know he said "Bah Humbug - the true path" but this is really going too far.
Fingers crossed that the stay in hospital won't have to be a long one.

Just finished wrapping presents, eating, I mean ,making brandy butter and had a last thought about Strollin' on this Christmas Eve...
Being a bit thick, probably...Does Strollin' have laptop with internet connection in hospital or is there someone who knows the mystery location of the chocolate-voiced-One, going to print off these wishes for him? Oh...and give him a copy?
Maybe we should start a 'dire' ditty collection for him?

Eg.

This is all too familiar. Old Grizzly, (Dave Prebble) collapsed with the same problem @ The Blue Bell Inn in Gringley during the Boxing Day Session last year. I hope you recover a lot faster than him St J.

No internet access here (well not to the 'cat at least.) Its blocked by the hospital system and I'm too ill to contemplate playing on my 'puter or entertaining visitors :-)
Thanks for all your fine words. Its good to know that I have people out there batting for me. Looks like being 2-3 weeks before I'm out and about again.

John, I am away to Romania once more on Sunday 1st Jan but will be praying for you and thinking of you all the way there and back. I will return on or around the 12th January and by then you will be out of hospital and making a rapid recovery.

Mike and I saw John briefly last night. He is pleased to have been disconnected from the various tubes and wires but still feeling much less than fighting fit. He may be allowed out of hospital sometime next week if he continues to behave! All of your kind messages have really helped him to get through what has been a really rough time and he is looking forward to being able to communicate in person.

Well Hi there y'all!. Came home yesterday (3rd Jan), 16 lbs lighter, still very weak and feeling as though Hell's Morris have given me a good going over with their sticks, but it's good to be out of there and back in the arms of the wonderful Mrs. Johhny.

Still no indication of what brought it on, more scans in a few weeks, till then a very light diet (that's no bad thing!) and no beer (F**K!). I don't remember much about the first three days (Morphine! Woooo-Hoo! Didn't stop the pain, but made me sleep for England and dream amazing dreams) except being certain that I was booked to open the show at the Great Folk-Club In The Sky.

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who posted on here with their good thoughts for me - it's really heartwarming to know there are so many out there who care.

And my thanks and admiration to the team on Shuttleworth Ward at Lincoln County Hospital - Angels, every one.

Going for a nap now.
