I think I've got all the redirects needed in place but I'll post here in case anyone has difficulty finding the Annexe...

As the folkinfo rewrite seems to have gone well and has run a couple of months without problen, I've decided to go ahead with the next step, ie, get the Annexe running on the same code and convert the db from access to MySQL.

It all seems ok from here but the extensions for the pages have changes from .asp to .php, eg. default.asp is now default.php.

Yes still jonbanjo.com http://www.jonbanjo.com/forum is the same as before. It's just there could be the odd problem if someone looks for a specific page (with an asp extension).

jon runs a folk site in UK.
the chat room there is often
where we go when the cat is
down. so bookmark it now that
the cat is up cuz you may want
to find it sometime when it is
not avaialable to us.

it also has a message forum and
song data base, if i remember.

the folk info chat page does not
seem to be up now...will you add
a chat feature to jon banjo?

I'd forgotten about the chat. I've just made a new page which in common with the rest of the Annexe is a php page. Chat can now be found at http://www.jonbanjo.com/forum/chat.php

for whom English is a foreign language sometimes and Internetese is even more difficult to understand most of the time.

Oh and now I'm running on mySQL, I'm able to do something I couldn't with Access. I've put a copy at http://www.jonbanjo.org/forum/forum.php.

It wont help if the database goes down or if my ISP had a major problem affecting all servers but usualy when there are problems, it is just one web server down and these domains are on different web servers. We are pretty stable/reliable anyway but this should improve availability further.

Not a change but I'll post here rather than start a new thread. jonbanjo.com has been unavailable for a couple of hours and there has been no word yet on when it will be restored or what the problem is (although it looks to be a routing problem preventing database connection).

The backdoor (http://www.jonbanjo.org/forum) has not been affected by this and is available.
