Sometime soon, it will be 2006 in Australia, so I want to wish all the Oz Catters and the New Zealand Catters, and the Catters on Guam and in the Pacific a happy new year.
2005 has been a difficult year for me, and an even more difficult year for most of the people I know. So, I'm hoping that the new year will be better for everyone, as 2006 makes it's way around the globe, and the globe starts another jaunt around the sun. Happy New Year everyone, prosperity, happiness, good music and good fun for everyone. (Except George W. who should wind up poor, miserable, and forced to endure hours and hours of easy listening music, except he probably likes that drool.)

Interesting you both should say that. It has been an exceptionally hard year for me too, and for many people I know, for various and unrelated reasons.

Happy 2006 everyone!! We will celebrate as usual, at our local village pub with crowds of very drunken villagers. I hope you all have, or had, enjoyable celebrations.

I started 2005 with news of the death of a friend on January 1st and have had five more deaths over the course of the year, so let's hope next year will be better in that way too...

Hppy New Year from Oz. It's 8 am here on New Year's Day.

We saw in the New Year on a deck/back verandah overlooking Newcastle, Oz, watching the fireworks in the distance, in a cool breez after a very hot day, with close family & friends. A nice way to start the year.

2005 had its ups and downs for me and is on the end of 10 years or more of searching and not finding financial security.   That's my aim for this year, to turn the corner and not have to worry about money for a change.

I have a lot to be thankful for, though. So this time of year is for being thankful as well as for making wishes for the future.

I am very thankful for the Mudcat community. You are all a very important part of my life, so thanks to all of you, and I wish you all love, light, health, happiness & peace for the New Year.

About 1hour left of 2005 as I write this.Reflections on a year mixed as always with both sorrow and joy. New friends made, old ones died and some just disappeared without trace yet.
Next year will no doubt contain much of the same. Every year does, no matter how hard we try people die,wars are fought in our names without our permission, and we get angry about many other things that are totally out of our control.
All that said can I thank everybody here on the Cat for their friendship this year and can I wish you all Peace and Health for 2006.

Dined out with a particularly close lady friend last night, watched an old comedy we got on dvd for Christmas, and ended the year very nicely and very informally. Health and happiness to all of ya in the year to come.
