It's not clear to me whether this is from the New York Hudson River Valley rent/eviction battles of the 1800's, the enclosure evictions in England, or the eviction of Irish tenant farmers ("hills and mountains" in Ireland?). "Derryveagh" would appear to be Irish. It's a very interesting fragment. Charley Noble |

CHARLEY - The song is about THE DERRYVEAGH EVICTIONS of 1861 and John George Adair's fortune buying up of estates bankrupt after the Irish potato famine in Donegal.
